Default Distress Markers- A Heads-Up.

Hi all, I posted this in tools, but thought I'd put it here as well. I recieved my Limited Edition colours DI Markers this week, and the carton comes with a label on it- STORE MARKERS HORIZONTALLY. I distinctly remember watching Tims CHA video when they first launched, and he said it did not matter how they were stored- upright was fine, hence the tub. That seems to have changed- I'm guessing on end or other starts to dry out, though I haven't seen anyone posting about problems. So if you have the DI Markers, best get them lay down nice & comfy, lol.

That is what I had heard as well. However, I store mine laying down too. Cost too much to take any chances...lol

Recently Tim stated they should be stored horizontally.

Ugh, well what do you do if you've been storing them vertically all this time? He had said, when they first came out which is when I got mine, that it didn't matter how you stored them.

I don't rely on Tim to tell me how to take care of my supplies, so I store all of my markers horizontally. I hope no one's marker ends have dried out because they listened to him. As a previous poster said, they are too expensive to take chances. Oh, and I always clean my stamps and store my inkpads upside-down. I know I'm speaking blasphemy, but Tim doesn't know everything. :0

They really need to package them to be stored horizontally in the store. When I got a package of them, one of mine was dry from the beginning and I think it's because they are displayed vertically....

Amen to that!

And that goes for any kind of marker, gel pen, artist pen, etc. I bought a package of Pitt artist pens and the smaller ones dried out so fast I hardly had a chance to use them. They were probably half dry when I bought them, and I should have returned them. (The thing is, these aren't 2-ended pens. They could package them with the nibs facing downward.)

Lol at scrapjanny! I admit, now I rarely clean my stamps, and I definitely store my pads upside down- that seems like every other 'famous crafter' has a different opinion on. have to agree about the stores- and not storing them at childrens height! I went into a big chain over here, Hobbyctafts, and they had a stand full of Marvy markers, with a pad for testing, on the bottom shelf! Guess what every child in the place was playing with!
I actually went back & looked at the original video- I too was sure he'd said store them anyway, then started to wonder if I'd imagined it. While watching it, I noted he said they can't be refilled with Distress re-inkers, as its a different ink meant for the pads. How long till they put out marker re-inkers, and empty our purses yet another way? Lol
