Default Cutting Satin with Nesties??

I have been making fabric flowers with the Tim Holtz tattered die and the nesties flowers. Anyway I bought satin Tim Holtz cuts fine (run through twice) but nesties no go. It just leaves an indention. I cut thicker felt with my nesties so it doesn't make sense that it wouldn't cut satin? Any suggestions

Satin is a very different texture to felt. But I've successfully cut raw silk with Nestabilities, so I don't think satin should be much different. I do remember that I had fused mine to some interfacing, but if you're making dimensional flowers you may not want to do that. And it may make no difference - I was just trying to keep the edges from fraying.

Phew, I had to go back a long way, but here are the silk flowers I cut with one of the Nestabilities Blossoms sets - TLC230 Bowl of Peonies by Cook22 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

And I see from my write-up that I didn't use interfacing, I used copy paper!

Mine is real shiny satin I'll try running through with some cardstock or printer paper.

It may not just be a case of thickness but of how dense the weave is. Your felt may look thicker but there's most likely an awful lot of air space in there which will mean it gets squashed down very flat in the cutting process. If your satin is quite heavyweight and very dense, it could just be that the die can't press through it. The Tim Holtz dies are steel rule construciton (a much deeper cutting profile) which explains why those go through.
