Default Cutting perfect corners with decorative scissors?

Hiya gals,

I need help!

How do you get your corners to align or come out perfect when using decorative scissors? I'm having a particularly rotten time with scallop edges.

This is one of my "best" tries at using scallop scissors...and it just isn't pretty.

Tricks, tips, hints are all appreciated.

This is a great question! I don't use my deco scissors for this very problem!

Ok, this is what I found that works for me using any of the deco scissors.

I cut my paper/cs first. You can make your corners where you 'need' to for best appearance. Then, I do my stamping, etc.

Hope that helps

This is what I do...I create a template by cutting the edge of piece of cardstock with the decorative scissors. I make sure this template is longer than the edge of my stamped piece.

I line up my template on top of the stamped piece & position the template where I want the cut to start & end. I align my scissors with the cut on the template & start cutting. I do the same thing for the opposite side of the stamped piece and then I do the top & bottom.

Save the cardstock template for future use.

I know without a picture that was probably clear as mud! If I had my digital camera handy I would try to do a visual tutorial.

I am left-handed and so I can't see where I'm cutting, if that makes any sense,or cut in a straight line, that is why I am seriously thinking about buying a Rotatrim. It is a cutter that has the same decorative edges as scissors and you just change the blade to the decorative edge that you want.
