Default Crimper Question

To create a crimped mat under something how much larger should the paper be that goes into the crimper? TIA

My best guesstimate has been about an inch in whichever direction you're crimping. So if you're sticking the cardstock in the crimper long ways (so the lines are horizontal) my card stock is about an inch longer than I want the final product to be. Sometimes I have to cut a crimped row off, but with the lines that are there after crimping, it's easy enough to do.

Hope that helps...
