I just want to brag a little. I went by Michael's today after the gym, and didn't buy a thing!
The Christmas stuff was marked 60% off, and I put two things in my cart, but put them back. I'm pretty sure they were 75% off last week!

Then I walked around the crafts, hot my fix, but bought nothing! Yeah!!!

I love this question! A couple years ago I started writing down my goals and then breaking them into steps. I haven't done that yet, but I know these larger things will be on there.

I just started a YouTube channel so I want to make videos for that regularly.

I want to blog 1 to 2 times a eeek.

I want to make my son's first communion invitations.

I received a gift-card from a family member to a crafty store for Christmas. I used it to stock up on some paper I've been eying (and adhesive refills, of course), and that should be the last of my shopping for the year. I'm ready to get my resolutions going!

I have decided that one of my goals for 2017 is to actually send some of the cards I make but also to include handwritten notes. I do so much typing and so little writing that my handwriting has gone to pot. Practice makes perfect and what better way to practice.

I collect sayings and quotes in a composition book, writing them over and over until I get the flow... practice does make perfect.

I went to Michael's yesterday. Used a 50% off coupon spending $2.17 on a spray can of adhesive for our card club today. I kept my blinders on and only bought what I went in for. So proud of myself. Have to admit the temptation was almost more than I could control not to buy a stamp set. Control control control!

I have enjoyed reading all the resolutions. Something that I WILL do that was not mentioned is to renew my Fan Club membership here. I forgot last year. I've not been able to access Fan Club content and I missed that!

I need to learn how to use my Silhouette that has only been used three times in the four years I've owned it. I have started watching some videos.

I would like to get back to scrapbooking so, that starts with printing pictures. I can't remember the last time I actually printed a digital picture.

I already cleaned and organized my craft area before Christmas so I'm ready to get started!

I want to play in the moment, I don't really know if its a "goal" per say, but last week on the first day of winter I die cut a pile of snowflake die cuts... to make winter cards ... now.

I am not digging out the valentines or Easter or St. Patrick's or anything spring until I feel like I have played with my winter "enough"

my second thought is, I will no longer participate in a challenge because, I love the chick hosting if its for a theme I will not use or do not need.
( I do not have to be so nice) this will be the hardest part.

Ok, so I am going to be on a mission to use up designer series paper! I have some going back to 2006 approximately (SU). My goal is to at least use up one 12 x 12 container which houses about 12 packs of dsp. I would like to get through two. I just keep buying it, but its getting out of control! I also cannot sell cards fast enough. I have approximately 1600 cards in my stash. I am going to make cards and give out gift packs to people with this paper.

Try using it for gift boxes, art journal pages that you can alter, die cuts, cork board backgrounds, framed wall art, decorate cardboard boxes for storage and gits, etc... good luck and have fun with it.

My goal for 2017 is to create more. The past couple of years I have been so involved with life in general. I am a very involved wife, mom, and daughter in law, so sometimes my hobbies must take a back seat to everyday life. I am looking forward to a New Year and all the crafting possibilities.

Do it, you'll be more creative starting the new year with a clean slate.

I do. My studio is my happy place and it is cheaper than therapy.
So far I'm pleased with my progress...

Question Unmounting wood base stamps

My next studio reorganization project is to unmount the rubber of my favorite wood mounted stamps. I'll mounted on Crafter's Choice stamp storage panels cut to fit 5.5x8 and store them in mini binder protective sheets...
What are you using to add tackiness to the back of the unmounted stamps?

Me too! I don't know what it is about DSP, but I can't seem to stop myself from buying it!

And now that OWH is gone, I have hundreds of cards that I need to donate and I just haven't done it.

My goal this year is simple, I am going to use what I have and share what I make.

What are you using to add tackiness to the back of the unmounted stamps?
I have mainly Stampin' Up! stamps. For my wood mount I pulled the sticker off the wooden block and stuck it to the back of the rubber stamp, then trimmed the sticker around the stamp.

Then I applied Alene's Tac It Over and Over with a throw away paint brush. Just a thin coat, let it dry, then put the tacky side on the back of your hand to season it. I have had no problems with any of my stamps not sticking to my clear blocks.(I use a stamp-a-ma-jig, so I didn't care that the sticker may not line up woth the stamp completely)

You can also use vinyl, which can be bought by the yard from fabric stores.
just glue the back of your stamp to it (I used TomBow). It will stick to your clear blocks. I had to use this method because some of the sets had two stamps on one block (ie..Inspired by Nature) and had small size stamp images. This is a good video on how to do that.

Good Luck. I just completed over 400 sets this past June. I love having my sets unmounted.

Great video for stamps unmourned before I found an easy way to do it from the beginning. I stamp the image on Easy Mount with Stazon, trace around it before lifting the stamp off, use my heat knife to cut around the traced outline, and attach the Easy Mount to the stamp. i stamp them all then cut, attach, and clean them up if needed with my heated knife.

I just moved from CA to Chicago, IL so my goals are small and moderate

1) Meet some crafty friends around the area
2) Participate in more blogs challenges
3) Each new stamp set I purchased - will have to be used at least 6 times (in 6 months)
4) Be really conservative about my spending.

I managed to sort and organize my enamel dots, rhinestones, designer brads, and shaker sequins into either containers and plastic sleeves. I am very pleased with what I accomplished and discovered I had supplies I had forgotten about. Now I can just pull out what I need knowing where it is stored. Makes life much easier. I even completed my first card of the year and posted in a the gallery.

There are some good videos on Youtube by Andrew Mellon (?) and many others on decluttering/organizing your space/life. One of the many tips I have learned and practice is to corral like with like in a limited space. If your collection exceeds the allotted space, container, tray, etc... something has to go to make room for the new item. I'm so glad I started the practice before I made my last move... I let go of a lot stuff that was doing nothing but taking up space and collecting dust. I was disgusted with myself as well thinking about the money I wasted on stuff that I was not using...

This is a great resolution. I am also trying to get more selective about the challenges I take part in. Last year I tried to do all the Dare to Get Dirty challenges and ended up with some cards I'll never use. This year, I won't do that as it's a waste of time and supplies.

Mostly I make Christmas cards for my November fund raiser so I will keep that in mind when I choose challenges to participate in.

Ditto to using my stash. I have collected some beautiful paper. I am getting into making mini albums. I found some great resources on YouTube and Facebook. That means I have to get pictures off cameras, phones and iPad and actually put them into albums. Of course I will still make cards. Wow, am I going to be busy!

Default Just checking in

Hi. Happy New Year and hope everyone is doing well working on their goals.

I just had to post because, to my surprise, I am having so much fun setting up my craft space.

I have been DREADING doing this but, lo and behold, I am having a blast. I am beginning by arranging the furniture but in the course of moving things around to make space for the furniture, I am running across so many things that I don't remember having or couldn't find.

I'm trying not to get distracted by the supplies so that I can get the furniture moved (think 'squirrel'). Once the furniture is in place then I can start going through everything and organizing.

So, FWIW, if anyone else out there is feeling overwhelmed at the thought of starting to get their space organized, my suggestion is to just jump in there and start small. You might be pleasantly surprised, like I was, and just really get into it when you start seeing all this cool stuff you forgot about or that you haven't been able to find; it's a real motivator.

I am so excited now with the anticipation of how much more creative enjoyment I am going to have that I can hardly contain myself, seriously.

Ever forward............

I don't make resolutions, but like some of the other ladies I want to make a goal for this year that is to use up some of my many containers of Designer paper.

My re Inkers are organized in double width DVD cases by color and company. Velcro dots hold bottles in place.
