I live in the UK but often go on holiday to Florida. Soon I'm going to Las Vegas and hope someone here might be able to help. I love Joannes and Michaels, which would be the best ones in LVegas? Are there any other craft stores that I haven't seen in Florida? I don't want to miss out on anything! Thanks all, May
There is a store called Viva Las Vegas. I'm including the link here, which has the address. There is an online store, so you can see his merchandise. I went there, the last time I was in Las Vegas and very much enjoyed it. http://www.stampo.com/map.html If you click on the blog link, you can get a sense of what the store is like. http://vivalas.blogspot.com/ I'm not affiliated, I just like his store.
Just because it's not on the Las Vegas Strip doesn't mean it's a "bad area of town"... no rubber stamp store could afford to be on the Las Vegas Strip and where there were once six rubber stamp stores in Las Vegas, there's now one and it's not in an expensive shopping center... but does have the most rubber stamps of any store in the world and a YouTube video tour of it!
oh you must go there!!! i loved it, and never once did i feel unsafe..i walked there and back to the strip with my girlfriends, it is so worth it!!!
i have never seen so much rubber and such unique stamps
Oh and give your self alot of time, my girlfriends are not stamper but they loved digging in the pink bin of loose rubber, while i wandered around aimlessly filling up a basket
I loved Viva Lasvegastamps ... never thought it was in a bad part of town at all .. the selection is amazing and unique ... You must give it a go and yes ..plan some time as there is so much to look at .... have fun !!!
I live in Las Vegas half the year and hate to hear people visiting tell others that the extreme north end of the Strip is a "safe" place. I would never walk around there and would be very cautious getting in and out of my car if I drove. Otoh, Julie Janes is in a beautiful area of Summerlin, which is a high end area in the northwest. The best neighborhoods of Las Vegas are those that fan out from the Strip at the farthest points from it, all around.
I'm totally aware Summerlin is referred to as Snoberlin and totally aware you own the stamp store we are discussing and totally aware it is in zipcode 89104 and totally aware if anyone checks the crime incidence map for Clark County, they will see that area designated as red. Green zipcode areas like Summerlin have the least crime, yellow the next best, orange is getting dicey and red is the highest crime area. This is public information, not a matter of opinion. I would also suggest posters using the internet to request info on stamp store locations in various states, instead of accepting one locals opinion of safety, check the public info, which in this case, would be Clark County's crime incident map which spells out each and every crime for the area for a selected period of time.
Oh Stampo! I am going in Sept for my daughter's wedding and will be visiting you! Shoot, I have been all over Vegas in the daytime and never once had a problem--except at the strip. I get tired of all the neekid lady guys standing around and handing out literature--and that is using the term loosely!
We LOVE downtown and the upper end...it has all the flavor!
This is super helpful! Hubby and I are planning a trip to Vegas soon, so I will definitely be checking out some of these stores! Thanks!
You can get an all day pass for the bus. I think it is now $7 for a whole day and you keep the same ticket you buy from the driver for 24 hours. They prefer exact money though.
If you are staying mid strip then you can take the duece bus to Sahara Ave. and then go east until you come to a small mall with commercial buildings and then cross the street. Contact Stampo, he will give you directions. Call them first as they open when they can.
If you love pets, they have them in the store and they are so cute. All rescue dogs and cats.
The stamps are amazing. Anything from anywhere in the world. I found some lovely Australian and New Zealand stamps but they have them from all over. Just go in the daytime. I doubt he is open at night anyway.
