Default Cracked Ice technique question

Does anyone know if this technique will work with SU chipboard? All the various tutorials use cardstock but I need something a bit sturdier for my project.

I never heard of this tech, so I googled.

I have only heard of this tech called Cracked Glass, but whatever, it is still the same tech.

I really don't know if it would work on chipboard, as you have to flex the chipboard to crack the embossing.

Only thing I can say is try it;)

I put my cardstock in the freezer to help the cracking...I would think that it could work with the chipboard as long as you can flex the board a bit :-)

No wonder I had trouble finding examples!!! I'm going to experiment this week. I'll report the results.

Chipboard works fine for this technique. You actually have a little more control over the amount of cracking because you have to work it a bit when it comes out the freezer. Sometimes card stock cracks too much. Have fun!

I made some leaves using both the chipboard and the cardstock. Both worked butdidn't get the effect I wanted by rubbing ink over them. It didn't want to go into the cracks. But I stll like the finished product.

I have found that you really have to sponge the ink over it while you are holding it slightly curved for the ink to penetrate the cracks. That works for me, at least, while sponging while the card is flat on my work surface doesn't really have much effect.
