I am fairly new to stamping; I played with it several years back but just started really getting into it recently. I have just uploaded a few cards and would like to get some opinions on them, if you have time. The link is:
your cards look very nice, exactly as they are. If you are wanting more, you might want to emboss the wording, or the candles....add glitter for the candle flame. You might stamp a print onto one of the background layers...add some brads. But none of that is necessary. They are beautiful exactly like they are.
Thank you for the comments everyone! I love this site; I learn so much from looking at everyone's cards and techniques. I appreciate the feedback; it really helps me learn.
You have a very good eye for basic design. If I were going to suggest anything at all it would be like kathy said, little detail things like glitter, or corner piercing or inking the edges of some of the layers to set them off. That's when you really develop your own look. But you have a great start.
I agree with all of the above posters. My cards didn't look anywhere near that good when I started! I have found that this site has really improved my cardmaking. The thing that I think helped the most was doing the challenges. They get you to try new layouts, color combos, techniques. Good luck!

Thank you for your comments. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to look and let me know how I am doing. It's good to know that I am on the right track!!
I'm glad you started this thread 'coz otherwise I probably would have missed seeing those three very nice cards. My favorite is the one with the flower (in fact, I put it into My Favorites) but I left comments on all of them.
There is a certain beauty in simplicity in this art. I've seen cards that are definitely overdone, and some that aren't done enough. Yours are quite nice and perfectly balanced. What i've found is that the longer you do this, the more daring you become (and the more your supply inventory builds up, ha ha). This is a great place to go for inspiration and wonderful tutorials. Plus there's always someone here who can answer your questions or give advice. Welcome and thanks for sharing. Hoping to see more in the future!
