Default Convention

Hi everyone. I have never been to the convention BUT I really want to go this year. I know nothing about what goes on at the convention. A few questions off the top of my head are
can we take guest? Where is a good place to stay? Tell me about the swaps? Do you have to sign up for swaps? Is things within walking distance? Are you on a busy schedule? I heard last year that they stamp all night? Do you fly right into Salt Lake City or do you fly someplace else? Thanks for any info and help about convention.

I'm assuming you mean the SU! Convention? Or the Scrapbook USA Expo here in March?

Anyway, you can fly to Salt Lake City airport. Depending on where you stay, the larger hotels might have shuttles from the airport. The light rail Trax train will be ready from the airport to downtown April 2013. I think SU! had their last convention at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City. We now have a new upscale City Creek shopping mall center across the street from the Salt Palace, that has a Cheesecake Factory restaurant, if you're interested. If you get a hotel in the public transportation "free zone" or quite close to it, you can go to a lot of places like Temple Square (free tours), City Creek shopping, The Gateway shopping and 2 museums there. Here's the website for the public transportation Utah Transit Authority

I'm not a SU! demo, but I do live close to Salt Lake, and SU! is in Riverton, about 20 minutes south of Salt Lake on the freeway.

To the OP, if you are an SU! demo, you might want to move this to the demo business talk forum, you'll probably get lots of info. I plan to go, though I haven't been in several years, but it's the 25th anniversary, so I'm going for sure.

you should join the SU demo forums here! several SCS members organize swaps in that forum and there's lots of chatter as the date gets closer.
