I have almost ruined a set of stamps making my Christmas cards. Do any of you use nail polish remover to clean your stamps or is there a way to remove the black stain from the rubber. The ink is not on the wood, the rubber is just stained really good!!!

No, don't use that. Use Ultraclean. It's really the best. It even gets old baked on Stazon off!!
Hugs,
Gina K.

Thanks for the tip Gina! Can you use it on clear stamps as well? I actually tried cleaning one of my clear stamps tonight that I had left for too long with ink on (bad me!) with just dishsoap and water, but it is still a bit stained. Also, it's not really clear anymore, it's kind of cloudy:(
Clear stamps will hold some of the color after cleaned but doesn't effect the quality of the stamp.
You can use ultraclean on your clear stamps as that is what Nicole at PaperTrey promotes as well.
I recently got a small bottle of ultralcean and it is great stuff got things way cleaner than the SU Mist. I will be getting the big bottle from either Gina K or PTI soon!
The StazOn cleaner has worked really well for me. I saw a tip on this site somewhere that said to really shake the bottle well before using it. I did that, and it cleaned my badly stained stamps til they were clean as a whistle!
Where can I find Ultraclean. I am using water, a little dish soap and glyceryin to clean my stamps. But I have a couples that have ink on them yet.
Thanks for any help.
Sue
I like the ultra clean, also. It is ok for the clear stamps, but it is not ok for the acrylic blocks. I stamp off on scrap paper to get most ink off, clean most things with Simple Green. 2 c water to 2 1/2 tsp simple green, 1/2 tsp glycerine. If there are more serious stains, then I use the ultra clean. It's a little expensive, but works great. I like my stamps clean, also. Many places sell the ultra clean, including Papertreyink.com.

I use regular old Target brand babywipes and they take off Stazon and every kind of ink I have ever used.
They even clean old stamps of my friends when we are stamping together and they are shocked!!
I agree that baby wipes work great. My boss bought some stamps at a garage sale that were not cleaned and really nasty. I used a baby wipe (I think they were Sam's Club brand) and they came nice and clean. I use a little baby soap and water. I mixed it up in a container, float a sponge in the bottom and use that. I dry it off with a old washcloth. I just make sure to keep a small amount in the bottom of the container so I don't get the wood wet.
Baby Wipes work great! Just be sure NOT to use those that contain alcohol or lanolin. These are NOT good for stamps. Just check the ingredient list.
May God bless, Sandi
