Question CASE"D

I posted this in the START HERE forum but I thought I would try here too.
What does this mean exactly? Is it making a card that looks exactly the same...colors, layout, stamp? Is a card considered case'd if just the layout is used and I use different colors/stamps and add embellishments?
Just wondering,
Alexis

I consider it cased if it is an exact copy. Otherwise I consider the original card to be an inspiration to whatever card I end up making. If I only change one element I may still say it is cased.

I pretty much consider an exact copy as cased...otherwise if there are changes such as colors, stamps, embellishments, etc...it is not. But I might note that my design was "inspired by one created by ____" just to give the original artist some credit. ;)

So then if I use a layout from another card...my card would not be considered case'd?

Default You be the judge....

I feel I cased evil stamper's nugget box. Little changes here and there, but c'mon - they are soooo alike!

I think this totally depends on the person you ask. I consider my cards to be CASED if I don't think of it myself. So even if I use a different stamp and different colors, if I used the other persons idea and I conciously remember using their idea, I credit them that I CASED it (or at least mention it is a CASE, if I don't know the person)

I guess some of it is if you are a
Copy and Steal Everything
or a
Copy and Selectively Edit
kind of CASEr.

I don't have many original ideas, so I think even if it's not an exact replica it's a case.

Hmm.. i think it's a matter of opinion. Here's mine:

If you use the same colors, stamps, general layout.. it's a "Case".. if I use their ideas and make them my own I call it "inspired by...."

There's a fine line, but then as long as you acknowledge where you got your idea, I don't think anyone around here would complain at all.. afterall, we're here to share ideas

Peace!
