This morning I received an email asking to send cards to an address in Washington for recovering American Soldiers. I was absolutely sick, when I looked into it more to find that it was a hoax. The address was not accepting cards for American Soldiers.
I looked on-line for organizations that were actually accepting cards and created a post on my blog.
I was wondering if you know of any organizations that are accepting or that do accept cards for soldiers and or their families.
Holiday Mail for Heroes is a partnership between the American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes to deliver one million holiday cards to American service members, veterans, and their families in the United States and around the world.
So when you're making your Holiday cards this year, make a few extras and send them to:

All cards must be postmarked no later than Wednesday, December 10,
2008.

I am the volunteer card coordinator for for Operation:Quiet Comfort. We need get well and thank you cards (signed with a personal message) They are sent to combat support hospitals for patients and staff.
Cards should be sent to me. I review, package up and forward to OQC.

There are many great recipients listed in this thread.
I also send to anysoldier.com -usually I receive a thank you and that is most rewarding. I include the cards in care packages containing snacks, toiletries, or other items.
SCS member SPRTCHICK has a project going on for cards for troops and she has sent THOUSANDS of cards over to the troops so far. Many SCS members send them to her and she fills the boxes and ships them.
