i would like to make a series of similar cards and then a 'box' or container to place them in, and then give the cards as a gift for someone to give themselves (I hope that makes sense). Is there a template for a 'card holding container' or something i could make that would allow the viewer to see the cards, or the topmost one at least, and be suitable for holding 6 cards or so?
I made sets of notecards for Christmas gifts and made this holder to go with them. I used matching paper to line the envelopes for the cards. It made a really cute set.
omg thank you! i was sure nobody would have a clue what i was talking about and here y'all proved me wrong! goes to show I still havent learned how resourceful everyone here is! thank u!!

I have two dies from Accucut one makes a box for A2 cards top and bottom and I can cut the center of the top out and add acetate for a window. The other is a die for my A6
cards. I use them a lot.
I have cut many boxes. Both by hand and with my Cameo. If you go on the Silhouette site they have several thousand kinds of boxes, baskets and a variety of 3D things to cut! You can make them be any size your want! They only limit is the 12" width.
Give it a look! https://www.silhouettedesignstore.co...old&search=Box
If you googles clear plastic boxes for A2 cards, you get lots of places that make them and sell them ready made and flat for shipping. The above is just one I found.

Making and gifting card sets is totally fun! Here are a couple of UK SU! demos who do a great job with all sorts of boxes ... lots of ideas for ways to play with this.
(If you go to their 'videos' tab, you can see a thumbnail of a lot of videos and zero in on the sort of thing you're looking for. Also, if you search YouTube for 'notecard boxes' you'll find more tutorials than you could imagine. lol!)

There's a great website where you can input the size and dimensions (in inches, cm or mm) you want and it spits out a PDF template - I've made several boxes that hold 8-10 cards each from this site. It's at Box with lid template | www.templatemaker.nl
Once cut out it took me less than 5 minutes to assemble.
The site also has lots of other boxes and things that might be useful!

I know, Bugga. Same here. A2s, and for A7s, too. But seems easy enough to adjust the measurements using a 12x12 sheet (and then there's scraps to incorporate into the cards to go inside, right? ;) ) I love that there's no gluing!
ETA: never mind about the A7 ... no way, even with a 12x12 sheet. Oh well. You can still use a 12x12 for the A2s.

I think you have a younger, faster brain than I do, Jeanie. Can you share the measurements for 12 x 12 to make an A2 Box?

So, if you cut a 12x12 so it's 8 1/2 x 12, you should be able to add 1/2 inch to each of the bottom and top sides, right? Gotta say, when I sketch it, I'm getting a need for 13 inches, but her box was 4x6 and we need 4 1/2" where she has 4" ... so this should work ... right? Gonna go try it in a bit, will get back to you on the progress/confusion ... lol! (younger and faster, yeah, right ... bwahahahahaha!!!)
ETA: Ooh, ooh, ooh ... I think I got it! Cut your 12 x 12 to 8 1/2 x 12. Score the long side (12") to: 1, 2, 6 1/2, 7 1/2. Score the short side (8 1/2) to: 1 and 7 1/2. Proceed as per the video. yay!

I remember (years ago) tutorials for making really cute bags/purses used for gifting card sets too (I even made some). I found one tutorial here but it isn't the one I was remembering.
