Does anyone know if they are having a new breast cancer stamp set in the new catalog. I was asked to decorate 50 bags for relay for life teams and need ideas and a ribbon stamp set. Please e-mail me with any suggestions, idears and or stamps I may be able to get. I need them by August 15th.
Thanks Jennifer [email protected]
i don't know if SU! has one for breast cancer in particular. i know there are other companies that do, but i don't believe SU! does. then again, i haven't seen the current catalog.

Sizzix has a Sizzix Scrap Pink Kit. This is the description from their website
Take the cause further! From paper to fabric, this Sizzix Scrap Pink Kit creates projects that energize everyone in the fight against breast cancer. To lend even more support, five percent of the purchase price of this Scrap Pink Kit goes to the Scrap Pink Foundation, which supports Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Packaged in a transparent gift bag, the complete 4-piece Scrap Pink Kit includes:

Don't tell anyone, but I bought a ribbon set from a competitor, CTMH, to make yellow ribbon stuff for the military. It has a breast cancer slogan in the set, too. Go the their website to see it.

As a recent breast cancer survivor, I have been urging people to ask SU to bring back the "Hope Is" set into the catalog as a "permanent" fundraising set for cancer research. When this set was orginally available, proceeds were donated, but it was only offered for one month as a special. I kept it "just in case" I ever needed it, and never expected to use it for my own "thanks for your support" cards last fall.
One of the great things about this set was that it could be used in many ways besides "ribbon" causes. I've seen the ribbon turned into a butterfly, for example.
Just my two cents, speaking from my little soap box...

I agree that SU should have a breast cancer stamp that they have all of the time. Most of the SU demos are women and many are survivors. This is a disease that affects so many women and their families. One in eight women will have this disease. I am a 3 time breast cancer survivor and I had to search for the "Hope is" set to get it. I haven't been able to get the other one. A coorporation that is mostly women should support this cause and the research now being done to find a cure I rhought I would join you on your soapbox, I will get off now too.
Not in the new catalog, but I did see a cute idea somewhere, maybe a blog, or here, or at convention which used pink 5/8 grosgrain to create a ribbon as the top of the box closure. It was a simple box with the word hope stamped on it and new hugs inside.

That was my creation, it's a teeny tiny milk carton but certainly can be translated to a card. It's in the SUB gallery. You have to have demo access to see it.
I still have the one from years back. I was hoping they would do one again. I would like to do a ScrapPink event...and would love to have the sets to do cards with it too!
I completely agree! I am 26 and am in the process of breast reconstruction after a double mastectomy. Everyone knows someone affected by this disease. There should be a ScrapPink or Crop for the Cure event. Maybe people could host parties and take donations or something.
I bought some kind of Hope Is type stamp from Sandy1955 on the BST forum last year. I have used the saying quite a bit and really like it for a variety of situations.
My downline and I did the Relay for Life in June and everything we made we used the Embrace Life stamp set. Everyone loved it!
I have sold more Embrace Life sets after telling my story as a breast cancer survivor!!!
Anyway, make sure you sign in at stampinup.com to request a set such as this! The more people who write to THEM about it, the more likely they will be to listen and accomodate us!
Though not a breast cancer survivor I am a bladder cancer survivor. A set with a nice ribbon would be great and perhaps a few sentiments.
I work with kids who have physical and mental impairments, and several of them are on the ribbon list also. Autism and Rett's Syndrome are the ones that come to mind.

Using the Embrace Life set in re cancer (or severe illness etc.) is a great idea! I had passed over this set because it was so similar to others, but now I will have to put it on my "must get" list - which is growing longer since the sneak peaks from convention! Thanks!

I am actually selling my "Hope Is..." set if you want it? I can ship fast (Priority). I'd sell it for $20 which would include shipping. PM me if you want it.

Congrats Suzanne on being a survivor! I am still in treatment for my BC. I would love to get my hands on a great set. I also wish that SU had one, but realized a while back that I'd have to go to another company. Thanks for the ideas in this thread!
I agree that one of the sets we NEED is a great ribbon/survivor set...I do still have the Hope Is set (and no, sorry, mine is not on the market but my UL is currently using it) but would love to have a new one so that everyone can get it to make some great projects.
LOVE the little ribbon with hope KandiceJo and I also love the idea of using Embrace Life as a sentiment for survivor type cards and projects. I will have to start using that one a lot more often, thanks for that suggestion.
Now, off to e-mail SU and beg for another breast cancer ribbon set AND a decent coffee set! Jan
I would also love a new riboon set from SU. I will be very excited to see what the die cuts look like. I raise money for Race for the Cure every year and always write a thank you note to whoever donates. This will come in handy this year.
Congrats to all you breast cancer survivors - and other type cancers too. I would like to see at least a Ribbon stamp and maybe generic type sayings so that we could use it for breast cancer or for any kind of cancer or group that the color stands for. I am so recent out of surgeries and chemo that I feel weird to say that I am a breast cancer survivor yet, but I guess I am too. I have one more surgery next Tuesday and after that I will feel more like a survivor. My DH has/had colon cancer so a ribbon for that would be nice to make.

I became a breast cancer survivor during this past year. I love the Hope Is set and use it whenever I can. I really think SU needs a ribbon set with encouraging/caring phrases that could be used for any type of cancer.
Have any of you ever done anything for the Komen Passionately Pink for the Cure? I thought that would be an easy thing for SU to promote and I'm planning to send in a suggestion about it.
To those of you who are still going through surgeries or treatments, I'm sending big hugs your way. Stay strong!
