As the New Year Starts--we'd love to have you join us as a BRAK Volunteer. You would send from 2-6 birthday cards each month to an assigned RAK member on their birthday. You decide how many cards and if you want to send out of your country or not. We all have extra cards on hand--so come and join us to put a smile on another SCS face!
PM me for additional information or to sign up. You do need to be a RAK member first--so please go to the homepage and join that group if you are not a member of that forum. Once you get set, PM me and we will get you started.
We are currently assigning the January birthday's, so you would be added for February. Thanks for checking this thread out.

Barbaralynn-I would be interested in doing the BRAK. However, when I went to try
to join I wasn't able to access anything. Did I do something wrong? TIA

Hi Julie--you first need to apply to become a member of the RAK user group. Please go to the home page and on the left sidebar, there is a place called "Join a User Group" Click on that and request membership to RAK.
It can take a few weeks to get approved as there are only two ladies that do that--when you get accepted, you will see the RAK forum in your list of forums and it will list RAK in your public profile. You then will have access to all of the RAK threads. When then happens, PM me and I will get you set as a BRAK member.
Does this make sense? If you need any additional help, please PM me. We are happy you want to join us.
Thanks, Barb

If you would like to join us--that would be great. We lost around 35 members in our spring cleaning check and would like to get a few more volunteers. PM me if you have any questions--you can post here if you want to join us or PM me.

Do you have extra birthday cards? Would you like to put a smile on a person with a birthday with one of your handmade cards. Can you commit to mailing 2 or 3 or more cards a month to other SCS members? If so, please contact me about becoming a BRAK--Birthday Random Act of Kindness--Volunteer.

If you have some extra time this summer to send some birthday cards, we would love to have you join us. Please check out the first post for information or PM me if you have any questions or want to sign up.
We'd love to have you as a member of the BRAK Volunteers!
Hi Barb! I think I might be able to manage sending a couple birthday cards each month. It seems every month I'm making birthday cards for family and friends. I can just make an extra every time I make a card. What more do I need to do?

Hi Paula--welcome back!
Since you still are a RAK member, we can get you signed up for the BRAK Volunteers right away. You would not be added though until the January assignments come out--around the 20th of December as we are currently assigning the ones for December.
I will pass your name onto Faith--she is yabbadodo on SCS and is the new member mentor for BRAK. She will send you a PM asking for additional information--like how many cards a month, if you want to send out the country or not, etc. When she gets that back, you will be all set.
Thanks for checking out the BRAK list right away and sending off some cards--I am sure they will be appreciated.
If you have any questions--please feel free to PM me or contact Faith--we are here to help!
Thanks--Barb

Hi there. What does the RAK group do and what type of commitments does membership in RAK bring with it, if any? I might want to join but I don't want to get myself into an overcommitment situation cuz then things that are fun become not fun LOL.

The RAK Group can be as much or as little as you want. You determine how involved you want to be.
There is a wish RAK part of the forum where you "grant wishes" to other RAK members--images, embellishments, etc. I am not a part of that group so I might not be the best to answer.
The BRAK Volunteers is a group that sends out birthday cards each month to members of the RAK forum--you can send out as few as 2 or as many as 7 or more each month--again--your choice. You also determine if you want to send out of your country or not.
There are also some challenges in the RAK forum and that too is optional.
So--if you do sign up to be a member of the RAK Forum, you then can decide how active to be from that point on. You can join by clicking on the "join a group" on the top left of this page. It may take a few weeks to get approval--so please be patient. If you then want to join one of the sub-forums, then you can get additional information in the RAK forum--and be sure to ask if any questions.
Does that help? If you have any other questions, please feel free to post or send me a PM. I hope I helped a bit.
Thanks--Barb

I think I'd really like to join both RAK and BRAK, so I will apply for RAK membership and, if accepted, then I'll contact you to apply for BRAK membership. Because I have quite a few swap commitments through Jan 2013 and then I think one in Feb and one in March, I may wait until spring 2013 to apply for BRAK membership if I'm eligible to apply.
