Default Birthday Invites

So I have the invite for my mom's 50th birthday all drawn up in my head. I want to use 5x5 Fabriano cards and cut a window in the front of them. I am going to print a photo of her on vellum (got this idea from Nichole Heady's card in the newest papercrafts mag) and put it in the window. I'm planning on printing the invite right on the inside of the card and then adding a spash of blue ribbon around the fold of the card.

My questions are:

Can I dry emboss on the Fabriano or do you think it is too thick and will look weird?

And...

How do I attach the vellum? Tape Runner? Glue dots (I loathe these things), MOno Multi?

Anyone have any other good ideas or suggestions for this?

Thanks!

Hi Jessica, I don't know anything about the dry embossing but you can use vellum tape on the vellum. I've used that and it is almost invisible.

I have done dry embossing on these cards and it works great!
