Default Best new product (last 6 months)

I haven't been on much lately. My house is being remodeled so my stamp supplies are completely boxed up and in storage. It's going to end soon. What's new in stamping/scrapbooking? What have I missed? Best new stamps? Think of me as an experienced new stamper. ;)

we are memory keepers corner chomper is pretty hot.

also make sure you have a medium-ish scallop circle punch (the SU one is the right size) because there are these flowers everyone is making out of them that are HOT.

Stampin UP is doing unmounted stamps that you use clear blocks with now. They are pretty cool.

Ooh, I'll have to look for these flowers. That sounds fun. Thankfully I have the punch.

Isn't that basically the same one Zutter put out a few years ago? I have the Zutter version and it's great!

As for the OP, there's been a huge explosion in the types and varieties of punches put out in the last year or so. Martha Stewart products are hot and Michael's has removed the restriction that you can't use coupons on her products. They also like to put her products on sale (usually 30% off). She also has a new score board out which is cheap and good.

Tim Holtz is majorly expanding his line too. He's coming out with all sorts of die cuts, embossing plates, and all sorts of other goodies.

Also, a new hot thing is wool felt. Papertrey Ink is about to come out with a line of their felt in colors that match their inks. Other companies currently have large lines of felt you can buy, even though those aren't traditional scrapping or stamping companies.

I can't wait to get the Tim Holtz stuff...it is so cool and so different than anything that I have seen out there. I have bought a bunch of stuff on line lately from Gina K. and Custom Crops(new cuttlebug folders). Can't wait til the stuff from the CHA previews hits the stores!

Martha Stewart has a new score board. It has scoring lines every 1/8 inch with an atachment for envelopes!

 • Faux bois is hot, whether it's patterned paper, or stamps, or actual wood paper you can stamp on
 • Interest in felt for embellishments (DIY or pre-fabbed) is on the rise
 • 6x6" patterned paper pads are hot (the patterns have been scaled down from their larger 12x12 counterparts, making them perfect for card makers)
 • A few companies have introduced gorgeous decorative tapes, and interest in Washi tape is increasing
 • Owls remain popular
 • Nostalgia themed products are prevalent (imagery and things that remind us of home or times past)
 • The Making Memories Slice, a digital die cutter, is getting a lot of notice and praise from card makers
 • EK Success recently released a ton of new Slim Profile Punch Designs that I'm salivating over
 • Jewelry making is an increasing trend with pretty findings and baubles that make it easy to create that designer look yourself

Hope that's enough to get ya' started. ;)

is washi tape like sticky ribbon from a card-makers perspective? I just looked it up and found it here: http://www.thetintedmint.com/Washi_Tapes_s/3.htm
I came across this when I Bing-ed faux bois, along with the definition of course: http://www.flor.com/service/flor/sho...00-101435.html which just looks neat.

Stampin' Up! now has unmounted "clear mount" rubber stamps and acrylic blocks, in addition to its original line of stamps that you mount on wood blocks.

I think this is what she's referring to: MMTPT69 Country Roses by MariLynn at Splitcoaststampers

And, here's a how-to tutorial (may be one of many, I just happened to find this one, and I like it because I prefer non-video tutorials): http://creationsbycorie.blogspot.com...-tutorial

Great thread!! I have been neglecting my stamping room for a few months as well and was back on looking for inspiration and possibly some new toys to get me going again!

Thanks for all the links girls...I am lost to the world with these fun things!

It's a decorative paper tape from Japan--beautiful. Sticky, yes. But, I wouldn't call it ribbon only because you can't tie it in knots or bows, UKWIM?

Probably. Over there, the pretty origami and washi papers are considerably less expensive, from what I hear, but you might post here on the forum if anybody stationed in Japan could verify that?

How lovely for your mom to travel to Japan--I am envious!

I agree with the Martha Stewart punches. Love the Around-the-Corner sets! I just ordered a slice and can't wait to get the adapter and the new 12" plate that makes it hands-free. They will be out some time this month. I also have a pre-order on Nellie Snellen flower punches that punch AND emboss...they look like Primas!
The best new thing in the past six months, IMO, are Mo Manning's digital images! In fact, she just started making images for paper-crafters exactly 6 months ago!
So many new and wonderful things out there....and I want them all! LOL!

I wonder if you are refering to this flower:

(would look super cute out of the high grade felt too)

I meant to add that BUTTONs are back in a big way lately. Put them on ribbon or incorporate them into your image.

There is a much bigger range of embossing folders. I like the Crafts Too embossing folders which are from the UK. They fit in the Cuttlebug and are slightly bigger than CB folders but you use them with the same sandwich.

And all those border punches: MS and EK Success. They really float my boat.

And buttons & more buttons - buttons are so "in". I love the way Papertrey Ink have incorporated them to be used with their images. I can't get the stamps here in Australia  but they are such a great idea & very inspirational.

These are what I had in mind. Of course any type of hand made layered flowers are hot right now, they don't have to be this puffy.

And buttons, I second that, buttons are HOT again. Which is great news for me because I have tons and tons of them.

I love trend-talk.

I have the Zutter version, too, and they are great on chipboard, etc. But they don't work at all on paper or card-stock. These new ones work on EVERYTHING I've tried them on, and they come in different shapes besides just the rounded corners. Check them out; I think you'd like them.

Can you tell me what these new Slice products are and what makes them hands free?
New Slice....very exciting!

They have made a collar that you place over your Slice which makes the machine magnectic. And then they have a 12x12 glass mat one side and embossing on the other side, both magnetic so your slice stays put no more need to hold it in place!

They have lots more deisgn cards.

You can now cut fabric, you iron this material on first then cut and peel off the material again.

They have spray adhesive now.

They have embossing tips and felt tip tips! You can emboss the image and then shadow cut it out!

I can't remember if they had anything else!
