Default Baby Shower Invites....Help!

My Aunt has asked me to do some baby shower invites because she is throwing a baby shower for a friend of hers that she plays softball with. I know that whatever I make will be out of my own pocket because that is just the way my aunt is. I don't mind making them but 1) I want them to be cute because it is my stamp reputation out there and 2) I need simple cause I do not want to use tons of my stash. It is a baby girl so any cute ideas and stamp sets. the only baby stamps I have is the one in So Many Scallops and the baby one in for a friend (hostess set). Should I go to Michaels and get a cute baby stamp? These are needed by next wednesday and I still do not know how many are "needed" any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Studio G has some cute little baby stamps and Michael's carries them. I just recently made some that were actually very inexpensive to make. The info was printed from the computer, so I only had to stamp circles on the background and a couple of little images and colored them with markers. Here is a link to the invite I made for a little boy shower:

The girl I made them for loved them and they fit perfectly in a business size envelope.

How about Lauren's famous onesie card with the So many scallop baby stamp on top? Doesn't use any more cardstock than an A2 card and a few scrap pieces. People flip over these cards when I give them. Type in "onesie" in the gallery, that will bring up tons of samples!

You can computer print the shower info, cut out and attach inside.

I recently purchased a pack of Fiskars baby acrylic stamps at AC Moore. With my 40% off coupon, it was only $9 and there are 44 stamps in there. It even has stamps for an invite (date, place, time, etc.). If you don't want to buy stamps for just this occasion, I think the onesie card mentioned above is a good idea too.

I made some for my SIL a few months ago. To keep price and time down, I printed the inside information on plain white cardstock with my laser printer. I use Domtar brand which is sort of equivalent with the paper so popular from Walmart -- very cheap. About $15 for 250 sheets. Each sheet yielded two card bases which I cut lengthwise.

Then I pasted fronts on using SU papers and used a cute dollar stamp. (I made 24 invites and only used 6 sheets of bashful blue, 1 1/2 sheets of certainly celery and about 20 sheets of the cheap white.)

My MIL had given me $25 for supplies, so I even made thank you cards the same way to give my SIL.

Here are a couple that I made. THe onesie would make adorable ones:

Sweet Daisy Onesie by csmilham at Splitcoaststampers

When my daughter was pregnant I made little diapers (triangle) out of flannel baby material. Then I cut a little but (spelling it wrong for a reason) which was basically a square top and rounded bottom. That had the message on it and I sponged the cheeks with pink and put it in the diaper. I used the old Cuddles and Tickles safety pink on the front of the diaper. I mailed them in clear envys. i thinkt he onesie would be just as cute but faster. JMO

I made this last year for my daughter's shower. I made lots of these and I got all the parts made and put them together assembly line like. They went together quickly once I had all the parts and pieces done. It's hard to believe that this Sunday will be Miss Mayah's first birthday. HTH

Wow, bless you for doing that for a total stranger! I would go for a minimalist/elegant look to save on paper and embellishments, do you have an embosser thingy? I've been obsessively scrolling through the galleries and there are some stunning white/embossed cards--maybe just add a pink or blue ribbon to it and computer print the info (cause hand writing it for even a few is gonna take forever!)
Maybe something like this:

I just finished making ones for our neice, having her first child. I used the 'swiss dot' embossing folder for my background and then added a stamped image and ribbon. Cute, simple and elegant all in one. The embossing really dressed up he card. Maybe you can use a stamp you have by using the embossing layer. Hopes this helps or at least gives you something to think about.
