I have some glass baby food jars that I would like to be creative with and recycle. Does anyone have any suggestions on what they do with theirs as far as little gift or treat type holders?
Thanks,
Jen

My demo gave a cute BF jar filled with one yard pieces of ribbon roled up. Her hubby decorated the top of the jar to lok like a daisy by using the large oval punch. The lid had a piece of ribbon tied around it.
I'd also love to hear some responses. They don't have to be stamping related either. I have a 9 month old and eating lots of baby food and i can't part with the jars because i just 'know' i can do something with them
my kids and I made gum ball machines out of them...cut a foam cup bottom off, about the width of the jar, decorated the cup and the jar with stickers, put gumballs in the jar, flip upside down and there you have it.
I have made candles in them too....you can get glass paint to make them look pretty, then I use regular parafin or candle wax melt in a double boiler, add some scent (usually 1 party lite tea lite) fill the jars, add wick, let dry, burn.
Goals for 2015 50 scrapbook pages/50 cards---progress 35/50 cards Complete my daughter's wedding scrapbook album Spend more time enjoying my friends and not so much time obsessing on work!!!
I'm also thinking that it would be nice to get one with some M&Ms in it, as a small thanks or just because gift. Make a label or use one of those hot monogram stampers to personalize it. Make a "drug label" for vitamin C (chocolate, of course!). Fill with conversation hearts for Valentine's day, and so on....
Decorate them with designer paper and fill them with:
*stamping embellishments (buttons, brads, small ribbon scraps, etc.)
*Household things like rubber bands, screws, thumbtacks, paper clips
*Cut a slot in the lid and use it as a small "wish" jar for children (fills up faster than a piggybank and could be used for saving up for ice cream, or a special treat)
*strips of paper on which you have written (or typed) thoughts for the day or humorous fortunes that can be chosen at random.
*Homemade refill mixture for blender pens
*"special" rocks, pebbles, or sand that you and your child/children collect from walks or family trips
Back when my boys were in Cub Scouts we used baby food jars to make snowglobes....glued a little figurine to the inside of the lid that would be ok in water, put water in the jar and maybe some glycerine, added glitter or "snow" and then screw the lid on with a little glue added. The snowglobe sits upside down on the lid and you can shake it to make it snow. But that's if you have some kids to make them with or for! They were fun.
