Default Anyone stamping Thanksgiving cards today? <g>

We're actually having Thanksgiving tomorrow, so I still have a day to get ready! Do you give your guests cards (it's a little late to send them <g>)? Do you make place cards for your dinner table?

I've been making cards like crazy because I'm going to try selling some at this Open House thingie where some very wealthy ladies spend lots of money?!

We're celebrating on Saturday, so I've been making tons of cards to give packets to friends for holiday gifts. Love the quiet of a holiday!

How much do you sell your cards for? I'm thinking I need to do that, we have some holiday shows that I can sell at.

Amy - nice to hear from another gal who is stamping today! :-) I normally sell my cards for $2.50, but the gal who told me about this opportunity said to charge plenty because these ladies can afford it! So I'm charging $3.50/card, or 5 for $15. I'm including an SU stamped envelope, and I'm putting each card in a cello bag. They can see the stamped side of the envelope too. I'll let you know how it goes! I have no idea if any of them will sell, but I'm hoping this will be successful, and I might get some people who want to buy more, or would be interested in learning how to stamp. I know I can't have business cards there (not demo business cards), but I do have my hand-stamped-by personalized stamp on the back and I'll make some kind of sign with my name, phone number, and email address. I don't actually have to be there - apparently it's an open house for things such as jewelry, purses, etc.

Hi Susan, I'm new to SCS and I'm very fortunate to be one of those ladies you're referring about. My husband's a doctor and we've worked very hard the last 26 years to get where we are. I have a lot of lady friends who are in my position and yes we can afford it. In fact, I think you're short-selling yourself if your cards are really good, especially if you're stamping the envelopes and using cellophane bags. I've paid as much as $7.50 for hand-made cards. I don't mind spending the $$ to buy a beautiful card for someone special. Also the price of the cards should vary, according to the work involved in each one. You might want to make small little cards with your name, telephone number, and e-mail address and place them inside of each card. I know when I'm going to a fundraiser event, I don't usually have pen and paper in my purse. I think you should always charge a set price though for your cards, ladies with "money" do cringe somewhat when they hear they are paying more for the same card because of their status. I hope you do well at this event and I was stamping today (Thanksgiving) as well. Jerri Kay
