Anybody else get the email from the Cornish Heritage Farm owners?
I was signed up to get email updates and got one today that woke me right up. The owners were unable to sell the business (except for the lady behind the Shady Tree line who bought her own images back - Nancy, I think) and now are willing to split up the lines.
I think this is good news, as they had tons of different styles, but what made me especially happy was that the Kim Hughes images have already been bought by somebody. Yay, hopefully they will be available someplace soon!
I have been kicking myself for not buying a couple of the Kim Hughes sets when I had the chance.
I got that email, too. I'm hoping by them selling line by line that some of my favorites will come back to life. I loved the Rummage Bin and the ATC lines especially but just couldn't afford to get everything I wanted, or I've discovered I somehow overlooked ordering a set that I really want now. I was glad to hear their lives in Missouri with their adopted children was going well, but I really miss their stamps and all the new sets that had been coming out. I hope someone can get licensing agreements with the B&O Railroad, etc. to keep those stamp lines alive, too.
I did and started mulling whether I could buy the backgrounders line ;) because I always wanted to buy it and they went out of business before I made the purchase. So I was thinking maybe I could be the one to continue that line...just a thought...
Joan, here's a gist of it - the complete e-mail is too long.
Please Note: The Kim Hughes Collection is not included in this deal! We were contacted right at the start of this process before all of the emails made it out and the collection images were bought. That gives you an indication of the popularity of our images, make sure you act now or risk losing the lines you want!
ATC Line - As you may well remember this was a relatively new line for CHF but a VERY popular one. Demand was high for these sets so although only 10 sets were created this line has a lot of potential. The new owner will also receive the ATC logo & template. Price - $1500
CDD also known as Cat Dancing Design - this line encompasses many, many great single images & a few sets including 12 sets for the Scene It Line which was very popular. During the time we owned this line we added a lot of new images but there are also some fantastic classics that are timeless. This line has approx 890 images/sets in it so really quite the collection. Logo & templates included. Price - $4,500
Rummage Bin - This line was published a lot - unique, high quality, sought after & affordable due to most of the offerings being in sets. 28 sets, collages & more. Logo & templates included. Price $4,000
Mona Lisa Moments (minus the 3 Thomas Kinkade sets & 2 Friendly Kritter sets unless you secure these licenses) - Phrase sets created in themes for the stamper & scrapper these sets were & are incredibly versatile. 26 sets, not including ones already mentioned. Logo & templates included. Price - $2,995
Scrapblocks - This line was the inspiration of one of our team & it was a GOOD one. There were 25 released, 2 still to be unveiled & also the templates for the Scrapblock Layers Scrapbook paper. Also included is the Trademark which we will transfer over to the new owner plus the Logo & template. Price $2,500
SonLight Impressions (which includes ALL the Backgrounders, Mushroom Lane & much more) - this is one of the oldest rubber stamp lines in the USA having been started back in the late 1980's. The backgrounders were definitely one of our best sellers & you, as the new owner, would receive them all! OOH! What treasure! There are some classics plus a lot of new ones that we and our team created not to mention all the hundred's of other images in this line. There are around 950 images so quite the collection. Price $8,995
I got there email to but they never said anything about the Thomas Kinkade stamps
I wonder what happened to them. I hope someone bought them and will hear soon
where we can buy them.
This is what they said about the Thomas Kinkade line and the others like it:
"Should the new owner wish to pursue some of the licenses (TK, SEP, ELvis, GM, Sara England, B&O and Friendly Kritters) which to our knowledge are still ALL available we would gladly pass those images on to you once you had a license agreement in place. If interested we will provide the contact info & help with the process."
Hey everyone...just wanted to let you know that I bought the Kim Hughes Collection back from CHF. I haven't given much thought as to what I will do with my art yet, but I will keep you all posted.

Well, at least it is possible that there will be more stamps available then, and that is good enough for me.

I'd love to see you re-release them under the Zva Creative range. I never got a chance to get them from CHF and would love to own a few sets.
I only found Cornish a short time before they went out of business. Loved their stuff. I wonder if they will make their list of customers available to all the buyers? How will we know who's selling what?
Okay, PHEW!! I'd hate for those beauties to get into the wrong hands!! Perhaps we should get a Vente Eggnog Mocha someday soon and talk about what you should do with those sweet images, hmmmmm?!!
Smooches!

Yay! I was so hoping it was you when the e-mail said the Kim Hughes line had already been sold! I hope you'll get chance to do something fun with it Kim.

I'm so glad to hear this. You're designs were my favorite over there. Hope to see them again some day.

I got the email too. I think it will be interesting to see what happens.
I personally think a business owner will have to think long and hard before they spend $3,000-5,000 for just a CD of the designs. Even if they have the vulcanizer and other equipment they would still need to have the metal plates made
Cornish Heritage had "huge" sales before they went out of business, plus Ellen Hutson had all of her CHF stamps on clearance. Most people may have purchased the stamps they wanted
In this economy how many more of these stamps will people really want to buy?

Thing was, a lot sold out quickly or some people had just discovered CHF and either hadn't had a chance to buy at all or couldn't get all they wanted. I was a customer for a long time and still don't have all the sets I wanted. They had many timeless designs, so it doesn't really matter when you get them, they still work and look great. And I know the economy still stinks, but by what I see people buying when I'm out shopping, at least in my area it doesn't seem as doom and gloom as the national news reports seem to say. Either things around here aren't as bad or people are just overspending again (more than what they're capable of affording). I think if CHF designs were made available again, there is still very much of a demand and they'll sell well. Afterall, the company didn't seem to close due to lack of sales but because the owners wanted a new direction with their personal lives.

I'm glad your artwork is back in your hands, too! I always loved your work, Kim!

Kim, I am glad to hear that. I have a couple sets from CHF including the "Get Well"(can't remember it's official name) set which I use a LOT for my sickie and ailing friends, men and women. You had other sets that I regret never buying. So perhaps there is hope! : ) Thanks for the info!
