Default amuse studio gallery

I wish the gallery for amuse studio was split into sets, the way the SU gallery is.

I agree -I wish all the Company Galleries were split like that. I like to search for cards for stamp sets that I own but it's hard to find. I usually just type the stamp set name in the Search box and I can usually at least get a few to pop up.

Jill, I've been doing that with some success. I've also found a bunch of consultant blogs to follow. But I just wish it was as easy as with the SU gallery.

I think keywording is a better option. Can you imagine how much you'd have to scroll through to upload if every company was listed by set (or individual image)? Wow!

I agree with Jeanne - using keywords properly means cards will come up in all sorts of searches. Plus, sometimes with the SU sets cards may just be in a member gallery or in a technique gallery if that's where the uploader has chosen to put them, and a keyword search will bring them all up, not just the ones directly uploaded into the set gallery!

How funny! I just looked up an AMuse search last night. Found all kinds of things. Basically anyone who uses AMuse ink or cardstock will also show up (I know cause lots of them were mine).

I also am confused on how to search - "Amuse" or "A|Muse" or "Amuse studios", kwim?? Course, I tend to over think these things!!

Yeah, I noticed a bunch of mine in there and it took me a minute to realize I used amuse paper or ink, and that's why.

I'm also confused about how to search/spell it. I don't even know how to make my computer type the second one (with the line).

I do realize it's unrealistic to have every company split into sets the way SU is, but a girl can still wish, can't she?

I think most people do not know to enter keywords and that could help with a lot of things... I tend to do my by theme rather then co. or set name...

such as winter, or birthday, or floral type keywords...

and I type it A Muse with the space the way the old wood block stamps came... ( even for the newer ones I have that are unmounted )

I agree. This place is so vast with hundreds and thousands of new members, not everyone knows what or how to use keywords.

I thought if you typed a space in between the words, like "A Muse" than that actually becomes 2 words. So someone would have to search A or Muse. I think that's why we (the DT) were asked to do the keyword "GinaK" for Gina K Designs cards. Is this right?

I also use theme keywords when I remember. those are very helpful. Nothing like searching for "graduation" or "Sympathy" and getting hundreds of results! Very nice

I wondered about keywords, too. If you go to a certain company's gallery, look up at the top, right under the banner ad but before the gallery pictures, and you'll see a series of words/combinations. I believe these are all of the acceptable keyword variations to put a card/project into that company's gallery. (Click on examples to view)

Example, A Muse Studio:

Another example:

gallery-ia-keywords.jpg

Just visit the gallery you want to upload to, and look for those options in bold for that company. Hope that helps!

Another way to narrow down the hits, instead of using the built-in search for companies is this - in the gallery click on search in the sidebar, and then Advanced Search. Put in Amuse and a_muse into the keywords, select "search title and description" and "contains at least one word" and then execute the search. This will still bring up inks and paper as well as stamps, but with a return of under 2500 hits as opposed to over 6000 for the automatic search, it's got to be a bit more exclusive.

Oooo I like this one.

See, I started with "wishful musings" and ended up learning how to use this site a little better.

Although I'd still like to know how to type the vertical line.

I happen to know that Miss Linda (A Muse founder) prefers it to be shown as two words, as was her original intent, but a lot of people run the two together so searching the way recommended above is probably the best way to do it.

Sue, on my laptop keyboard the vertical line is on the same key above the backward slash (typed with ) . That key is just above the key.

LOL! I never noticed that before. I thought it needed some special font or code or something.

I wrote it in that way more for the gallery software requirements than anything else , just as you need to type PennyBlack or Penny_Black, either with no space or with an underscore, while neither is the correct company name.
