AMuse Inks vs PTI colors
I have been holding off getting new inks in anticipation of PTI coming out with their new ink, however the release has been pushed back again and I really don't want to wait any longer.
I was looking at the AMuse ink and would be interested to know if there are any colors that match or come close to any PTI colors. I have a lot invested in PTI colored products like the paper, ribbon, buttons and felt so I really don't invest any money in those items from AMuse.

I have just started collecting the Momento inks...not sure about Amuse but I am disgusted with the huge amount of PTI pads with refills that I have...and they suck. I love everything else PTI has...I might need to look at Amuse too...never have too many inks right?
blessings.

I have a lot of PTI color -- I'll see what I can come up with for comparisons for you. I'm expecting more A Muse inks early next week so that will help too.
Maybe I could make up a piece of white card stock with A Muse ink samples on it. I'll let you know and if you PM me your address I can send it to you. I think seeing them in person would help you determine for yourself how close they are!

I have the Amuse black inkpad and I like it. It works well with clear stamps too.

Sent you a PM back, Kelli!
I'm not a really matchy-matchy person, but I think these are pretty close:
Shell | Sweet Blush
Lemon Whip | a little lighter than Lemon Tart
Lichen/Sage | Spring Moss is in-between
Sky | Spring Rain
Bubblegum | close to Hibiscus Burst
Papaya | Summer Sunrise
Blueberry | Blueberry Sky
Currant | Scarlet Jewel
Slate | Smokey Shadow
I am getting more inks next week, but I suspect these will be close, too:
Cherry | Pure Poppy
Watermelon | Berry Sorbet? (Kelli, I think I told you Melon Berry; maybe in-between)
Heather | Plum Pudding
Eucalyptus | similar to but darker than Ocean Tides
HTH!

Kelli's question prompted me to revisit those PTI inks that I still have (I had tossed the bad light ones and reformulated ones). Some of them I used to use all the time now have the same issues as the bad ones did.
I have a little more drawer space now.
Sorry you got the refills, too, Amber. I had only purchased a few and when I knew they weren't any good, I thought maybe they could still be used for watercolor, but nope.

They do have a chalk-like quality - a little bit like Versamagic, so they work well with rubber and clear stamps. And they don't take very long to dry at all, yet can still be used with clear embossing powder. . . just how did they manage that?! ;^)

Oh thank you so much!! I have a lot of fun with those! So many possibilities!!
Thank you to everyone for the information on the ink as well! I was hoping to see the new PTI ink next release and now wonder if it is better to look for an alternative or be patient and wait. The A Muse inks have me very curious!

A Muse Cherry is closer to Memento Lady Bug PTI's Pure Poppy.

It is okay...just a lot of money wasted because I have every single color and I always buy refills with my pads no matter what company it is...if they are available. I just cant bring myself throw them out and would not feel right trying to sell them. I sure have a lot of them...lol
blessings.

there are some stampers on the PTI forum that would love to have your refills. They have inkpads that are dry and need a refill but they aren't available. I have only had problems with a few of my PTI inkpads so I wouldn't have a problem buying them.

they stamp beautifully with the inks. sometimes there is a bit of staining. for example, I stamped the same stamp with Amuse orange about 20 times in a row (don't ask, disasterous design!!) and promptly cleaned with a baby wipe. there is a faint orange tint to the stamp. it doesn't affect the stamping at all, but it is there.
other colors, such as the lichen (light green) did not leave a stain at all.

I stamped one of my favorite clear backgrounds several dozen times using A Muse's cobalt blue. It had perfect coverage and left only the faintest blue tint. The staining from the slate ink is even less noticable. And I haven't been able to detect any from the lighter colors. It's not at all like the staining you get from using Colorbox Fluid Chalk inks, if that's what you're thinking about.

I am checking to see if anyone had a chance to add to this list? I read on a blog that PTIs Chartreuse matches the AMuse Grass perfectly.

I found this list, posted by someone else, on the PTI forum -- this is NOT my list but it looks right to me.
All of these are perfect matches with PTI Colors:
Spring Moss = Lichen
Sweet Blush = Shell
Lemon Tart = Lemon Whip
Summer Sunrise = Papaya
Plum Pudding = Heather
Dark Chocolate = French Roast
Spring Rain = Sky
New Leaf = Grass
Orange Zest = Pumpkin
Scarlet Jewel = Currant
Smokey Shadow = Slate
Simply Chartreuse = Fern
Harvest Gold = Buttercup
Fine Linen = Wheat
Kraft = Latte
Hibiscus Burst = Watermelon (Watermelon is perfect match, but Bubblegum could also work)
Pure Poppy = Cranberry (Cherry could also work)
Soft Stone = Pebble (new color available 8/22)
All of these are great matches with PTI Colors:
Blueberry Sky = Blueberry (just slightly brighter)
Ripe Avocado = Fern (slightly lighter)
Blackberry = Royal Velvet (slightly lighter)
Ocean Tides = Eucalyptus (darker bluer)
Aqua Mist = Bermuda (just slightly bluer)
Enchanted Evening = Navy (slightly brighter)
Hawaiian Shores = Bermuda (coordinates beautifully with, but much lighter)
Raspberry Fizz = Bubblegum (coordinates beautifully with, but much lighter)
Other colors that don't have PTI matches, but are beautiful colors:
Lime, Evergreen, Cobalt, Ocean

That was the list that I had posted! I was happy that there are quite a few very good matches and many exact matches!
Also, I extended this offer on the PTI Forum, and I'll offer this here too, if anyone wants a free stamped color chart of A Muse colors so you can match it up with your own eyes, send me a PM and I'll get one to you!

Those who are on the fence, a•muse studio has their ink pads on sale right now so it might be worth trying out a few colors. I just added 13 more to my collection but I'm jealous that Monica has them all! Jealous in a nice way though!

I don't purchase from PTI any longer. I have heard far too many complaints about that company, and there are so many wonderful companies to give my hard earned money to! I really like GinaK, or A muse, etc....still do alot of SU! as well. I steer clear of PTI.
