i purchased this set after watching a jennifer mcguire youtube...although she did use another set, but it was the same idea...multi layered stamps...
wow, was this difficult. i downloaded the "cheat sheet" from altenew but still had much difficulty figuring out which teeny stamps were which. i even emailed altenew to see if there were any new hints for stamping with this set. no reply.
it was my first purchase of altenew and regrettably probably my last. this set is a bear !
has anyone else had this problem? or want to buy "painted flowers"?
Yep, it's a tough one! I've found that even if it's not perfectly aligned, the finished product can still look good - kinda artsy and loose. I took my stamps off the sheet they came on from Altenew and lined them up in sets on a new sheet of Duralar. It helps me to have all the stamps for one flower or leaf in a row.
I saw someone's video where someone used a sharpie marker to outline the "groups" of layers that go for each particular flower o the stamp carrier sheet. I can't recall if it was for this specific company but this might might help.

Okay I finally got to play. I only used the photo on the back of the package as a guide - I was doing the flower with two leaves. I used the biggest notch in the flower to align the images - just look at where the images are in relation to that notch. Then I set them down on the cardstock, picked them up with the lid of the MISTI and stamped. The flower was trickier than the leaves but that notch is the key. For me it's much easier to work from the big solid image first, down to the most detailed. My brain doesn't work the other way. Here's a pic. Soft sky, coastal cabana, island indigo, memento black, memento pear tart, memento bamboo leaves.
