Default Almost Free...and other internet finds

Well, Daven I went searching for what could possibly be the number 1 Rubber Stamping website today... I have no clue what could be better than this. Nada, I did not find any I liked more...but I did find a FREE...well almost ($3.00 for S&H) personalized stamp at http://www.stampman.net/lite/tryfree.html You can pick out of a dozen typefaces and do 4 lines of up to 35 characters! So if you have a favorite saying or something... And you can order as many as you want at the $3.00 S&H charge each.

I also found some recipes that may already be here somewhere...but here goes:

To make envelope glue, bring 6 tablespoons white vinegar to a boil. Add 4 ounces unflavored gelatin. Stir until dissolved. Add 1 tablespoon vanilla extract. Brush on envelope flap [let dry]. Store unused glue in a sealed container.

To make embossing ink, mix 1 part glycerin and 2 parts water. [Apply with a makeup sponge or put ink in a blank foam stamp pad].

Dove® Blender refill solution: In a one ounce bottle, place 1 part glycerin, 2 parts distilled water and 1/4 teaspoon rubbing alcohol.

Still can't find that #1 website... I think it is really here...

OK, here's my find. At www.americankelco.com they will send you a free clear checkbook cover as a sample. They are pretty cheap to begin with (1.60). I haven't received it yet, but hey, it's free!

Thanks,
Emily

The way they advertise it - "Try it free now" - makes me wonder if perhaps they simply mean that you can try seeing what your stamp would LOOK like for free, before you choose to order it...?

I think the rubber part of the stamp is free but you have to pay for the handle. Kinda sounds like false advertisement if that is the case!

What they are saying is "Try the stamp and see what it looks like" So, you type in your name and info (whatever you want the stamp to say) and then you can see what it looks like for free. You aren't getting the actual stamp for free.

Here's a freebie for someone in Texas:

I live in Garland, just northeast of Dallas. I have a big box of stamps and accessories and I want to GIVE them to someone here on SCS who has been kind enough to share their cards on the gallery (YES, you have to have a gallery to qualify!). I have gotten so much from the galleries here, I am grateful, and I would like to give something back to fuel your creativity!

It is all good stuff, lots of recently retired SU scrapbooking supplies, a few stamp sets, some punches, etc... worth quite a bit if you added it all up.

Whoever can bring me a cute Christmas card first gets it! You gotta be able to come either tonight before 11 or Monday morning to pick it up!

I will give it to the first person who PM's me AND can come the soonest!

Everything is in great condition, and it will be worth your time to PM me and come a runnin!

Nope, I will not answer questions about what it is or what it is worth, just take it as a Christmas miracle that IS as good as it seems! All SU retired merchandise!

I took most of December off, and I have been getting so much done. Cleaning my stamp area has been a big job! Get this: I didn't even know I had a third of that stuff, it was buried! A big ginormous box of stuff I never even knew I had!

I am working on another box, mamakimberly came and picked it up, it was fun watching her walk off with it, it goes to good hands.

Quite honestly it really kicked off the holiday for me, it felt so good to do something nice for someone else, very Christmassy.

I always feel so guilty that I get so much from other people's galleries, and I have zippo in mine, because I am pretty much a 100% CASE-r. One of these days I will come up with something to share.
