I'm going to buy a pack (250 sheets) of the Curious Metallics Gold Leaf cover cardstock (92# weight) which is supposed to be the same as SU gold brushed metallic.
Does anybody want to buy a pack of Curious Metallics Anodised (same as silver) or Bronze Ore (same as copper) and trade? 250 sheets is a LOT but the price is great.
If you're interested, post here or let me know ASAP! I'm going to order today to get the sale price.

check the page again... it says the 80# paper comes 250 sheets. the 92# paper only comes with 100 sheets. (http://www.paperzone.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/27_104/products_id/600{1}99) it might not be quite the deal you are expecting.... although still cheaper than SU's paper.

You're right, Sandi. I checked and I got the 93# cover mixed up with the text stock. Although it's not quite the deal I thought, it's still less than half the price of SU CS. They also sell the Confetti CS that SU has, but the price difference isn't as great.
I'm getting the Gold Leaf (brushed gold); if anybody wants to trade some Bronze (copper) or Anodized (silver) please let me know!
I am curious to which actually matches the brushed silver--anodised or galvanized? The link has one post saying anodised is the exact match and another post says galvanized is the exaction match. Does anyone know for sure?
I have a sample of the silver SU paper but haven't seen the Curious Metallics papers in person. But here's a couple of sites that have better pictures of the Curious Metallics papers than paperzone.com has (but the prices aren't as good):
I have a PaperZone a couple blocks from my office. It was packed today so I didn't spend time looking. They have lots of great stuff - but it isn't always the cheapest. Example: Tombow refill is $4.49 compared to Viking at 1.88. Some of their eyelets etc. can be found cheaper on line.
For the person talking about the Bazzill paper - check out www.TheHappyHammer.com They have brads that coordinate with the Bazzill paper.
I would possibly be interested in splitting the silver and gold, but I see that the 15% off is only today and I have to wait until next Friday to buy anything.
If you don't order today and they have another special pm me and I'll see if I have any extra money to split the CS with you. A much better deal than SU!
I am actually teaching a class ay paper zone today!!! I will try to check out the colors...............it is WAY cheaper to buy the brushed cardstock there.
Lisa - you're so lucky to live near one!!! Let us know how the Curious Metallics papers compare to Sus (I think the SU paper IS Curious Metallics) and also the Confetti paper is the same too, but not such a big price difference.
This place also had the metallic paper and they were even cheaper than paperzone. you tell them how many sheets you want, so you can buy just a couple sheets if you want to, rather than being forced to buy 100 sheets at a time. I just bought 25 sheets of each of the 3 colors. I'm so happy to found this paper for so much cheaper than SU. I like using them, but the cost had previously limited me. at $.24 per sheet (paperzone was $.28 and SU is $.70!!), it's not quite as restrictive.

Is there white cs like SU ultrasmooth white? I've been looking to find the ultrasmooth cs elsewhere but never have. Anyone know where to find it other than SU?
I bought the anodized (silver) 80# (250 sheets) and the bronze ore (copper) 92# (100 sheets) from Paperzone and just received it. The copper is not an exact match to SU's. It's more reddish while SU's has more of a golden sheen to it. It's still pretty, but not a match.
The silver is pretty similar, though not an exact match. The PZ is a little lighter in color. Also, it doesn't seem to be cardstock thickness like SU's. The 92# (like the copper) would be an equivalent weight. Still, it's good for layering.
If you're still interested in trading off some of your gold, let me know. We can do sheet for sheet or whatever you think is fair.
I ordered a sampler from PZ in addition to the CS & it hasn't arrived yet. I think I have some folks to trade with but will contact you for sure when I receive it!
Does anyone know what the shipping is like from this site? I went to it and tried to get some info, but you have to put all your info in before you get to anything about shipping.

it is based on the weight of what is being shipped, in pounds, as that is how UPS bills it. I got 30 sheets of gold, 30 of silver, and only 25 of bronze (30 would have pushed me to the next pound's rate!) and my shipping was $6.22 with a $.35 handling fee. Entire order - about $27.
I used the live chat option and had a really nice guy helping me. I think he said it was 14 pages of the 92# paper in a pound? It was a week ago, so I'm not positive any more. I think once you put something in the cart, you can use the "estimate shipping" button without having to create the account, etc.
Hope that helps!

Also you can find:
SU Shimmery = Cryogenic
SU Brushed Silver = ? I can't remember the specific name but Fas Clammpitt Paper carries it waaaayy cheaper than SU.
I buy Confetti Cream, Confetti White, Glossy, Shimmery, and Brushed Silver, plus envelopes and folded cards from Fas Clampitt.
I can't remember which location of Fas Clampitt I do business with -- the info is at home, but Frank is pretty knowledgable about SU papers. If you want the number I call to reach Frank, pm me and I'll check when I get home. They ship quickly.
I may be placing an order soon so if anyone wants to split w/ me I could order a variety of papers.

Julie - it looks like you ordered the lighter weight silver text paper instead of the heavier weight cover paper.
I am curious to which actually matches the brushed silver--anodised or galvanized? The link has one post saying anodised is the exact match and another post says galvanized is the exaction match. Does anyone know for sure?
Thanks!
I believe it is the ionized...if you click the color swatch (see link below) on the anodized, the description states it is an extremely pale blue color. HTH

OK, my Curious Metallics finally arrived & I can now definitively report as follows:
SU's Brushed Metallic Gold paper is Curious Metallics' Gold Leaf
SU's Brushed Metallic Silver paper is Curious Metallics' Galvanized
SU's Copper is NOT Curious Metallics' Bronze Ore
Bronze Ore is gorgeous - a rich gold/browny bronze, but not the same. SU's Copper is much closer to Stardreams' Copper, but SU's Copper is lighter than the Stardreams Copper.
I can also report that Stardreams paper is wonderful. The colors are absolutely stunning & there's a wide variety of colors. The CS is VERY heavy - 105 lb. while SU Brushed Gold Silver is 92 lb. The Stardreams 81 lb. text would be very nice for layering but you couldn't use it for the card itself or for anything that requires a nice stiff background. I imagine the same goes for the Curious Metallics' 80 lb. text - good for layering, bad for cards.
I've heard that SU's Shimmery White is actually Curious Iridescents' Cryogenic. I didn't get the Curious Iridescents sampler so I don't know for sure, but I can tell you that it's NOT a Curious Metallics or Stardreams paper.
I'm trying to put together a bulk purchase of Confetti cream & white CS & envelopes next, so let me know if you need any. It works out to 12 cents/sheet and 12 cents/envelope (about 40% off SU). Same paper.
