I am in a tizzy... I have recently found four of my Colorbox pigment (not chalk) pads hardened on the edges and impossible to use. I threw them out and found my Encore pads were still spongy and easy to use. BUT they don't have a black.. so I found Adirondack pigment online but wondered if anyone had any news about them or reviews?
How old are they? Some of my small CatsEye pigment pads are getting old, but I've used them so much for sponging edges that I'm not surprised they're showing signs of age. Plus most of them are four or five years old now. What is your main use for the black? Is it for stamping or sponging?
My Colorbox are from 10 years ago or more when I worked at a stamp store. They were all full size pads, some were the high top some were regulars. I haven't sponged at all with the Colorbox, mostly used for embossing and DTP. They are hard dry around the edges.

If you want a good black ink for embossing, the Brilliance Graphite Black is a lovely juicy pad that gives you plenty of time for adding EP. Any Brilliance pads I have are still in great condition.
I love the black versafine ink as well as Stampin' Up! craft inks. I was not impressed with Ranger Adirondack pigment inks although I love their water based inks.
