Default 48 colored rainbow world has gone HAYWIRE

Gee! I didn't realize how co-dependent I had become w/ my 48-colored rainbow. Looking on this site has just turned my world upside down! Everytime I see a new color it JUMPS out at me & I'm sent into a mini-tailspin...until the next card w/ new colors pops up....then I spin off in yet another direction of color confusion! I gave up & ordered every pad & CS to quickly get assimilated to the new rainbow & calm my senses down. In a word, I need my rainbow expanded in a big hurry! Don't get me wrong. I knew I needed to have colors like Pumpkin Spice and Celery to describe things to, say, my husband. Instead, I was forced to say things like, "The couch was kind of a mix between Only Orange and say....Really Rust. & the drapes were like Green Gable, but more dustier,....sorta." Of course, he was confused by this explanation, & still will be by the use of the new proper color titles like Pumpkin Spice & Celery & I guess he always will be....because he doesn't understand the SU! rainbow! I do love a stamping challenge. Bring 'em on SU! I'm ready for my broader rainbow horizons!

I know I'l need to play with the new colors a bunch more before I'm used to them. I did have fun the other day, I cut out a set of CF for each of the "new" color families. It's amazing how wonderfully these new colors blend in with the existing ones. I'm most intrigued by Sahara Sand - it takes on different looks depending on what it's around. If it's alone, it seems a bit gray, until you put it next to going gray - boy what a difference. I think I'm discovering some new fun colors.

The walls in my living room are Mellow Moss, the entry is More Mustard, and my upstairs hall is Creamy Caramel. Everything I see reminds me of one of my SU! colors!

I had the walls in my house painted when I was on vacation, I was expecting my entry rooms to be mellow moss, only my SU friends can sympathize with the fact that they looked Green Galore! Shock, and after a return trip to home depot with some cardstock we got the right color!

I know what you mean...I'm just learning the old colors and now have some to forget (although I won't on some of them) and some new ones to remember. The only thing I heard that I'm not sure I want to teach myself is that the names are supposedly going away on the bottom of the pad. That is bad for me. I live by that...and I haven't been one to use only from one color family (I know...bad me). I use the colors if they look well together no matter what family they belong in.

My friend painted her hallway Green Galore (on purpose). That's her favorite color. I thought it was a little bright only because you can see it from the great room and kitchen and she has that painted Close to Cocoa. I like both colors, just not adjoining. I guess.
