Default 2 cricut machines

So, I won a cricut expressions machine. YAY! The problem, I already own one! i've noticed the re-sell on these are not great. What would you do with 2??? Any ideas???

Donate it to a Boys/Girls Club? If you wanted to sell it what difference would it make if the re-sell value isn't all that much since you'd be making 100% profit anyway.

No the resale value on these really went down. I have one I've been trying to sell and I can't even get $125 for it. And to think I paid $329 for it 2 years (with the cartridges, but still....UGH!)

If you don't want to sell it maybe you could donate it to a raffle. There are schools that have craft shows with raffles and it would help raise money too.

What about donating it to your local library or even a school nearest to where you live?

I might call around and see if any schools can use one. I really wanted to try and sell it so I could have a little extra money for christmas. I may give Craigslist a whirl and it id bombs, I'll probably donate it.

Where are you located? I know I never can find them on craigslist here. I know that the prices have gone down so much lately that retail you can buy them new for about the same price as used. I still want to get one, but since I hardly use my cricut create much I can't justify buying one just because I want it.

Good luck in your endeavors.

If there are a lot of Cricut people in the city you live, you might want to check with a computer or electronics repair shop...Provo Craft does not sell parts at all so a repair center might think of it as an investment...it would be worth it to them for the money they could make off repairs. Just a thought

Patty's right about the new ones being so low. I was able to buy my daughter and I each one on the Wal-Mart website this year for, I think it was, $145. It came with two cartridges, your choice of decorator color [plum, yellow, lime green or tourquoise~all with beautiful swirls wrapped around it]. They are beautiful to behold. No shipping or taxes or anything. It was a great deal and actually left my "you can never surprise me" daughter speechless for over an hour! HA!

I use my cricut a lot. I am on my third cricut expression. It has been replaced twice by Provo Craft because the first two were defective.

If it were me, I'd keep the second one as a back-up. I am beginning to wonder if they are built to last.

I would keep it as a back up or donate it to a school. You won't get hardly anything for it if you try to sell it.

That's a great idea - donate it to a school or church holding a craft show to raffle it off - most of the people who go to craft shows are crafters - that's a great idea!

I work for a library and use our Cricut all the time for cutting things for the preschool story times and for the bulletin boards as well as for several classes we've done with children in making gifts for their teachers, etc. I don't know what we would do without it--oh, yes I do==I'd end up cutting everything a million times by hand! I'm so grateful to have this machine. Do think about donating it to a preschool, a library, a church or...... You would be blessing many, many people if you did!

My DH has a side repair job fixing electronics. I know he won't buy old Cricut's. I am afraid the broken ones are a dime a dozen now. Since most of them end up in landfills or people are modding them out. It doesn't hurt to try a repair shop. Most will only give you peanuts for it. I am thinking maybe $50. I could be on the high side for that. Repair guys are just going to tear them up anyway.

I have a backup Cricut in my storage shed in case my Expression breaks. I have one of the Aqua Expressions now. I also have a Cricut Create I use for polymer clay and other heavier materials so I won't put wear and tear on my Aqua Cricut. We have other Cricut's for parts. They are parted out and not good for anything.
