I'm curious how "old" your oldest stamp set is? Just wondering how many people have held on to a favorite older set that you would never part with it.
I started stamping only about 3 years ago, but the oldest stamp set I had until today was a SU set from 2000. I just picked up a set from 1993 at a garage sale and by looking at it I don' think it has ever seen any ink . Yipee!! BTW it's called "What's Moo".
It's a set of three fruits. I think an orange, some berries and another one. I haven't used it in years. I need to go ink that set and use it. It's really pretty.

I have Fantastic Foliage too - great, versatile set. I think my oldest is Quilts Give Comfort, ?1998 or 1999. I don't use it often but can't part with it because it was the first set I bought and I love the style.

My oldest set is from four years ago. It's an all occasion set with a wedding cake, Santa, etc. I have another all occasion set from four years ago also...has a baby outfit on the clothes line, sprinkling can, window with window box, etc. I haven't used them a lot but I still like them!
Mine is called Gifted glove which was a work glove with 4 seasonal arrangements that you could stamp on the opening of the glove. It is dated 1997. I think it was purchased at the first SU workshop I ever went to.

My oldest set is "Dreams & Dragons" that I bought at my first ever SU party back in 1997 or 1998. I can't remember now. It's the set that started it all for me! I bought two others from that party but they are long gone now. I kind of wish I had held on to them, but I never used them...

My oldest set is SU and it's from the early 1990's. Probably when they first started. It's called At The Hop and has a juke box, jitterbug dancers, record, soda..........the usual
50's stuff. I first started buying SU in 1996 and this was one that I bought off someone else from an older catty. This was back when they had other companies stamps in their catty, too. Button Bear was one of my 1st and I still have it and Bow Bear accessories. Just can't part with them. Yep, got dreams and dragons too. Hey Liz, I used to have that one too. I've long ago let go of it.

My two oldest sets are Smile and Background Basics. I bought them at the first SU workshop the I attended for my kids to play with because I had no intention of doing this (yeah I know, famous last words ), along with YoYo Yellow and Basic Black stamp pads. I still have both sets and still use both of them.
Mine is SU GAMES GALORE. It is mounted on foam so you know its old! I bought from a fellow SCSer so I can make little paper games to tuck inside cards I send to children in hospitals.
My oldest is More Great Groupings dating back to 1993 or 1994. It's a great set of sentiment stamps for every holiday and even an I'm Sorry and I Love You stamp.

My oldest SU set is "Precious and Few" a limited edition set from 1998. I bought it on e-bay because it matched the hostess set "Basket of Kindness" that I just HAD to have way back when... sadly, I've only used it once - but I can't bear to part with it!
My oldest set is the penguin joy one (I don't know what it's real name is) but it's the one with three penguins holding J-O-Y. It was the first SU set I ever purchased, then came Frosty. Still have them both.

My oldest set is Holiday hedgehogs. It was the first set I ever bought from SU (in 2002) and it is what got me hooked to this hobby. I will never part with it.
I don't know the name of my first set, but it is from around 1993 or 1994. Am I the only weird one that has NEVER gotten rid of any stamp. I did trade 1 house mouse stamp, but thats it. Can't bear to let them go. I also have a few PSX stamps from the 1990's. I saw my Iris and Rose go on Ebay for about $60 each. Tempted to sell them but, naw.

My first ever rubber stamp is still in my possession. It has a line of three teddies, with hearts in between, by Inkadinkadoo if I remember correctly. I spent about $3.00 on it somewhere around 1981-ish. Three dollars was a LOT of money then, a fair portion of my store money for my week at camp! But I couldn't resist it.
My oldest set has got to be one of five foam-mounted sets I purchased from All Night Media, somewhere around 1988-ish. An alphabet, a Classic Pooh, a Beatrix Potter, a large Christmas themed, and a large all-purpose themed, with mostly animals. Again, I was in my glory after I got them, though I never used them much. Never really "knew" what to do with them. Any time I tried to design with them the project fell flat. Of course, I would try to create magic with almost no proper tools, whatsoever. Luckily I held on to all of my original purchases (bought a LOT of seconds from Inkadinkadoo, through a store in Boston called Whit's End. It was a wonderful store, open for only a few years. I spent a lot of hours and a fair amount of money in there!). A few years ago my friend's daughter began making cards with Stampin Up. It awoke the stamping bug in me. Now, with places like this amazing site, creating magic is easy and thoroughly enjoyable, if NOT inexpensive. I still don't have nearly all the tools I desire, but even having to keep it pretty basic I've been very happy with my projects so far.:-D
Whats Moo... Has the cutest cows, milk can, sunflowers. I think I purchased it in 98
This set is really cute- that's why I snagged it ! I didn't even notice until I got home and looked at it that it was from 1993 . I also got Friendship Grows from 2001 for cheap too- that one has never seen ink either. I love garage sales!!
My oldest SU sets are from 1994, back when they first started. I have Carousel, What's Moo? and Clownin' Around, foam mounted of course. I have two Hero Art stamps from that catalog two that were part of my first purchase. I've bought hundreds of SU sets since then.
The oldest stamps I own are from 1932. It's a publishing set designed for kids (my mom bought it for me at a garage sale when I was 7 - that was 1968/not 1932, LOL!!!). This set has images, words, letters and numbers, very old, no cushion, wood handles, printer style type. Very cool, not all the images work great, but still, it's neat.
I couldn't say for sure. The set I bought was in the 90's for sure but I didn't know to keep the label so the name is gone. I didn't really like the stuff back then (I'm talking SU) it was too country for me so I bought a set that had four long bars each with several square images that related, like Christmas, fall, summer etc. I thought I was being economical because I could use each image separately... didn't buy ink or anything so I got it and never really used it. I gave it to my mom who never uses it either. Thank goodness someone invited me to a SU workshop several years later in 2004 because I didn't have a great impression of SU until that point! Obviously I've changed- I'm an SUO gal now!
My first ever stamp was a PSX birdbath. I've had it for many years, and used it this week with Flower Soft.
My first SU set is dated 1997. I'm not sure of the name, but I think it's "Branch" or "Branches". It has a Branch, Leaves, Beehive, 2 Apples, 2 Birdhouses, and Flowers. The images are solid. I have all my stamps, both SU and others. Eileen

The PSX birdbath was from 1993. I also have a few stamps from a company calleld D.O.T.S, which I don't think is in business any longer. They were cute, country looking stamps. The Branch set is Branch DD. Eileen

I'm a fairly "young" stamper. My first stamps were purchased at an SU party I was invited to in 2003. I got a Greeting for All Reasons, Bitty Bolds and whatever zoo themed set was in the catty then, I can't remember the name right now. I still have these sets and do use them sometimes. In fact, I think the only sets I've gotten rid of have been Sellabration sets. I really try to purchase sets that are practical and that I won't tire of quickly. And since I'm not a demo, I can keep and use whatever I want, I don't have to worry about being "current"

Oh my! I'd have to do a lot of research to figure out the first stamp set I bought from Stampin Up! I've been either a customer or demonstrator since the first year or two they started. Back then it was Shelli and her sister, LaVonne. My first demonstrator (before I was one) was their Aunt Margaret. She was really nice & talented and sold me on stamping! So many of the sets that you all have mentioned, I have and have enjoyed using. Some of which I still have and use. Happy Stamping!
Diane,
Back when I was a demo (my demo number was 4 digits), they did the roll up, and since my upline was gone, I rolled up and Margaret was my upline. Such a nice lady, that's what I miss about not being a demo anymore, Margaret. I think her demo numbers 1.
