My first order included Bold Basics (now retired), blender pens, pastels and a "hand stamped by" stamp. It was during SAB so I got a free set. For the life of me, I can't remember what it was!
My first stamp purchase was Alphabet Attitude lower case (I was *only* going to use stamps in my scrapbooks! LOL!) and a real red and a brocade blue ink pad. At my next party, it was suggested to me to buy Nice and Easy Notes, but I quickly traded them, they are just not my style! My very first set that I absolutely loved was Party Animals, and now I know that I am a ballet blue lover, not brocade blue, which I have barely ever used! This is a fun thread to read!
My first stamp set was Tassel Time. I bought it for a card I wanted to make for my daughter. Looking back, man that card was homey looking. I must admit I have improved on my card making 100%.
It was a snowman set that retired in 2003. I can't remember the name of it. That and a Night of Navy ink pad.

I made it! Dec 2006-July 2007!
My nonstamping, weight-loss blog sort of.
The now retired Christmas Tags set. I wasn't sure if I wanted to stamp!! I bought it, some US White, and a Basic Black Classic pad. I already had Prismacolor pencils left over from college, so I used those to color them in. I bought some scrap paper from Michaels to mount them onto.
Goodness, I've come so far since then!!!
Christmas Gift Tags was my first set, too! I wasn't sure I wanted to stamp!
I think mine was Flutterbys. I also did not know that I needed to put the little label on the box, or that it would turn into an obsession. However, I was told by the demo to trim the rubber. The problem was, I didn't have the craft and rubber scissors, so it took me forever, and I did a terrible job.
It's funny how we all started out similarly!
Watercolor minis, but I hated it. I went to a Stampin' Up party during SAB, January 2002, I think. I ordered enough embossing powder to earn Watercolor Minis, which I used only once or twice. I had been stamping about 6 months before this, and I used the embossing with the CTMH stamps I already had. I know I had one alphabet set, and something else. I didn't really get hooked until the first Stampin' Memories catalog came out later that year. I looked on the demo locater and found a demo, got a catalog, and WORE IT OUT!!! Two months later during SAB 2003 I spent $800 on stamps, and I was SO STUPID not to sign up as a demo myself!!! UGH!! And I've never again had the opportunity to spend that much at once...
I got several all at the same time. Let's see if I can remember them all...
Happy Holidays Country Vines Writing Rebus Sweet Christmas Treats Hoppy Easter Simple Sayings (I think that is the name, I'll have to go look. it's thank you, happy birthday, thinking of you, and one more...I don't use it too often)
pastels
blender pens
some paper
4 ink pads, eggplant envy, basic black, rocket red, and chocolate brown
All at a yard sale for...are you ready?...10 dollars!! That was last may, and I"m still on a high from it. She was asking 30, but I didn't have it on me, so dh went back later, and bargained with her!!
My first two sets were border mini and festive friends. I started out small too. I was into scrapbooking and thougt i could use the mini borders with alphabets, and the festive friends made cute tags. Little did i know that i would become totally addicted to stamping. That was 4 years ago and now between my sister and I, we have too many to count. My sister has become a demo, and I help her out at the parties. The toys are all at my house, since I have more room. Lucky me!
My first set was Meow Meow. It sat around for years. Then a friend gave me Nice and Easy Notes AND all 12 SS stamp pads, chalks, blender pens and more...I dabbled using these two sets for a long time. Then I started going to a workshops and girls night out events and now I'm hooked. Last time I counted, I had about 70 sets. Not bad for three years of stamping...
The first SU party I order Christmas Fun. I think was in 2000 for my daughter then 2 years old to "decorate" christmas enevolpes, since she liked "art stuff" so much. Now she is 8 and I think she stamps better cards than me!!
I am actually going to be bidding on my first ever SU set off ebay this week....I think it's an old one that heaps of you guy's have used (I have seen many of them in the galleries) One of the sets I am gonna get is the 'love ya bunches' set and the other one I might be getting is the 'your the cats meow'. I can't wait and I hope I win them.
oh my...well I purchased about 15 sets on my first order, but my first "must have" was the extra large hydrangea stamp....I still have it and love it!!!
The first set that I purchased was Feathered Friends, along with a black ink pad, a few other classic pads in soft subtles, soft subtles assorted card stock, white cardstock, watercolor pencils and blender pens. I know I have missed a few items. This purchase was during Sell-a-bration so I also received two sets, "Friendship Grows" and "Wonderful Woodcuts". This first purchase opened the flood gates to my stamping obsession!!
My first set was paper dolls, lol! I was intreagued by stamping but not sure how much I'd do it so I bought something my DD and I could do together. Now over 300 sets later...we still stamp together!!
Branches, I don't even know what year it was. It's been discontinued for a while. My first ever stamp was a birdbath from PSX. I still like it. I was looking for a hobby that would fit in a shoebox. Now, I barely have room for my husband in the house. Good thing he's a good sport. Eileen
Good one! I keep my stuff in the dining room, and my husband won't go near it!
I saw my 1st SU! catty 3 years ago and wanted it, so my SIL said to book a party with her friend. I earned 7 free sets from that awesome night that started this whole obsession! They included:
Sketch an Event (STILL luv that one!)
Fresh Flowers (yuck! sold it)
Watercolor Garden
Brushstroke Double Alpha
Border Builders (that was the hostess set--tired of it but still good set!)
My first set was Button Bear, I also bought the old foam set I think it was called Hearth and Home. I still have them and probably always will I don't get rid of anything! I'm hopelessly addicted.
