I voted!!! I'm very into vintage right now so I put that in Victorian/Elaborate because I wasn't sure...what a fun poll - can't wait to see what others vote for! Let's be honest though I just love stamps so I pretty much could've put all of them!
Quite often people say they were disappointed in the choice of stamp images from various companies
After we finish this poll hopefully some stamp companies they will read it and it will give them direction for future stamps we want to buy
My favorite style is like what Stampers Anonymous had especially pretty much everything by Tim Holtz. It's not really Victorian or Elaborate but that's what I voted for because that style doesn't really fit in any of the other categories. The whole collage/graphic design (like what you find on the graphic t-shirts) is soooo up my alley.
I love vintage, grungy, distressed stamps, as well elaborate and victorian. I have tons of simple line stamps...but find that I don't use them much any more.
I voted for cutesy stamps and line drawings. I do love the Penny Black animal stamps, Popcorn the bear, and Elzybells (sniff - soon to be no more), but I also love to be able to colour something in like flowers too.
I voted victorian/elaborate, nature and line drawings. Of course what I use depends on what I am making and for who. I find sitting around and coloring images relaxing though, so I probably use line drawings the most.

The results of the poll , so far, show a huge gap between what we want to buy and what some stamp companies want to sell to us
Several stamp companies have a gazillion child like drawing images and no one who voted here wants to buy them
Quotations including religious ones have a limited audience. They are fine for close family members, but not appropriate for co-workers , casual friends, the Beautician, Postals carriers, etc or for use by people who sell their cards
It is easy to blame the economy for low sales results when a large part of the problem appears to be companies not understanding what people want to buy.
If we want a stamp or set we will haul out the cheap caserole recipies so we can afford it LOL

It would be nice if Stampin up did polls like this to gather what we like. I have spent more money on SC because I like the outline stamps int the 90s and early 2000's and they just don't have that much in the new catalogs. Also, like the 6 by 6 packs that they only have as hostess gifts. As a card maker I would prefer the 6 by 6 in all the colors and would order several if they were available.

I put line line drawings to color, nature stamps (I'm such a flower nut) and Silhouette stamps. That sounds like a strange combination, but it's just what my taste is. I love to color, but I also like the simplicity yet elegant look that a silhouette stamp can do. I'm planning to save my money so I can place a big enough order to earn the silhouette stamp set that's a hostess set this year. It's the first time in a long time I've even wanted a hostess set.

Sometimes manufacturers or store owners get caught up in what THEY like rather than what others like and will buy. Plus trends change and some don't keep up with the changes .
I happen to like some of the Tilda's, but as you see I am in the minority and would never stock them if I had a store.
Coloring is very popular right now whether it is with Copics, water color markers, pencils or ink so line drawings are popular
The only one that surprised me is Silhouettes and bold images. I love Silhouettes , but they are a challenge , for me , to get a crisp image and I end up embossing them.
Yet one of the two stamp sets I just bought from Gina K is "Hugs and Prayers" that has half of the images in silhouettes and half in line drawings to color

Another of my favorite style of stamps is the whole library/technical/school/office type of stuff like some of the stuff that Heather Nichols (aka pinefeather) has designed for PTI. I use that stuff all the time, too, and I don't care if it's vintage/older looking like some of CHF's Scrapblocks are or newer/crisper designs - I use whichever best suits the mood of my project. It pretty much doesn't matter who makes it, if it falls into that category, I gravitate to it and drop a bunch of cash on them (as long as I don't have something just like it or super close already). That style could fall into several categories depending on the images/quotes,etc in the set or the individual stamp itself.
I chose the Nature Stamps. I'm not very good at coloring people yet so I shy away from those kinds of stamps. There are lots of Stampin' Up stamps that I have fell in love with but am waiting on them to come out with more of their cling style stamps. I'm trying to move away from wood blocks just due to my shrinking space lol.
I go back and forth between cute stamps that I can color with copics and characters that I like (Tildas, Sweet Pea, CC Designs, Whipper Snappers,.....) and the like.
