Don't know about this year yet, but last year, I made these little candy airplanes (got the idea from Nichole Heady's blog) for the kids in DS's class. Instead of rockets, I used PEZ candies for the body and wrapped those up with labels stamped using Limitless Labels by PTI . I stamped right on the gum wrapper/wings with the small heart stamp from the same set. I packaged them up in little ziplocks and added a topper. The hardest part was convincing DS to write his name on all of them!
Alanna, these are adorable! Thanks for sharing the link. In the beginning of the school year I signed up to help with one of the class parties, (I'm guessing the Valentine's Day party, but I can't really remember which!). This would be a fun little project to do with the kids. :-D
I have been asked to teach a valentine class at a local antique mall that offers fun classes to draw people into the store. So naturally I am thinking vintage valentines, maybe a couple of cards and a couple of paper cones to fill with candy. Anyone have any other vintage ideas?
The cones are such a great vintage idea...with some tea stained lace around the top, perhaps? What about little sachets?

I'm glad to hear about something other than christmas! Granted I only had a few very close friends and family to make cards for, the rest got premade. So let's see I know I want to make some pocket cards. They are adorable and I have yet to complete a single one.
Everything is super cute so far! I love the scraplings and those little airplanes are adorable!!! I have been trying to get inspired to make something but my house is such a wrech that it is difficult to concentrate on fun stuff.

Yea, Christmas morning has a tendency to wreck the living room with piles of opened presents...and today i'm so sick i can't put them away like i wanted to nor can i work on our kitchen like i planned. :( Maybe i'll craft later if i feel up to it and get started on my v-day stuff...

The scrapplings are adorable!
The airplanes are cute for kids.
I have a play day set for end of January and the theme is Valentines Day.
I'll have to keep checking back to get all the ideas - then pick one and get started.
I found some cute little heart shaped ornaments at Michael's on clearance. They are wood with a fancy felt overlay and are nice and flat. I plan on die cutting some of the birds from the "Birds and Blooms" SU Sizzlits set and using them to make an additional layer with two love birds kissing. I can't wait to play!:-D

Alanna - thanks so much for the link - looks like I will be there a while. Even DS thinks the planes are COOL!!
I already have the paper. I bought double sided so that I can use just one piece, versus 1/2 and 1/2.
Maybe I will get them done before the night before!!!

These are adorable! :-D Do you have the instructions on how to make them?

I love these bags! We decided on bracelets for the girls with their name added almost like a charm. We are making them them into hearts on the shrinky dink paper and I colored them with Sharpies and then wrote each girls name. We did a test run for my daughter and it was cute. Now I just need to think of something as cute for the boys.
I'm making the heart cookies on a stick that I saw on Taylor V.'s blog http://tayloredexpressions.blogspot.com/
I believe it's the Jan. 4th entry on her blog.
I bought the cookie molds at Michaels with a 40% off coupon the other day.
Went and bought the Wilton's icing yesterday with another 40% coupon.
LOVE the top-note goody bags!
I'll probably do that for my daughter's 3rd grade class and maybe fry boxes for my son's preschool class.
Of course, they will have cards to hand out as well. The new heart punches will be perfect for this! Waiting to see what else will be appearing in the new catty.
Last year my son and I made valentines for his kindergarten class together. We took a bunch of old broken crayons, broke them up more and then put them in a small heart mold to make new multi-colored, heart crayons. We then attached them to a piece of paper and had all different sentiments (ie You Color My World, etc). He then signed his name to those. They were a huge hit with his class. Kids were actually playing with those before eating candy.

I assume that you melted them before putting them in the mold? This sounds VERY cute! TFS

Oops, left off a little important part! You break up the crayon pieces and put them in a mold (we just got candy mold at Michaels) and then you put them in the oven to melt them. Once they are melted completely, take out and cool and then pop out of the molds.

I think you put them in the mold and then melt if it's a metal mold. That would make them all confetti-ish. But..do they make molds like that in metal?
For my daughter's kindergarten class I got these Monkey Pencils We're going to make cardstock hearts with the little Cuttlebug monkey on them to slide onto the pencils. She has a small class, so they won't be too complicated or expensive, and they'll work well for boys or girls. Maybe it will help motivate them to practice their writing too!

I love this idea. I was picking up the basement this afternoon and put away a huge container of crayons. After 3 kids and many years I have such a collection of crayons, enough for a lifetime. I may have to try this. What temperature should you set the oven at to melt the crayons.

i think that I can actually deal with valentine's day now. I went out of town a week ago and went into an amazing kitchen store. I bought a 6" round cookie cutter and a 2 1/2" scalloped heart I'm going to make large round, fudge filled sandwich cookies. The top will have the heart cut out of the center so they can better see the fudge filling. I will be giving these to my kids as well as a target mailbox filled with candy. I also usually make them heart shaped pancakes and strawberry milk for breakfast. It's going to be all that much easier since it falls on a Saturday this year.
