What did you buy at Michael's with your 40% off coupon?
Hi , I'm traveling 280 miles for Easter and will get to go to Michael's. I printed my 40% off coupon and am wondering how did everyone use their coupon? I know I could use a diff. sized scallop punch, but maybe I should get something a little pricier since I have the coupon.
LOL!! What a problem, eh?
I had a 50% off coupon for today, one day only, which was in our flyer last Friday and had a few things I wanted to buy....a heat-gun for embossing, for instance...but I decided on a $20 Marvy large circle punch, as they seem so versitile and are almost never in stock.
Everything else I wanted was already on sale...a lousy 25%, just so that we couldn't use our coupons...even the PrismaPencils were 25% off. Grrrr.. Other than that, there wasn't anything pricier that I wanted! Don't tell my DH, he'd faint! LOL!
Take you time, grab everything you want, then sort. You'll come up with something great, I'm sure! Have fun!!
I haven't used my coupon in a couple of weeks. There just isn't anything new and I don't feel like trying very hard to find something I want just to use the coupon.

Sad to say, I have run out of things to buy at Michaels. When I have a 50% coupon, I find I use it for monoadhesive refills or cutting blades for my Fiskars trimmer. The store isn't out of my way so I don't feel like I'm wasting gas when I stop for these little items.
Haven't used mine yet. I will probably be there the last day of the coupon, scouring the aisles (which are probably picked clean of the good stuff from the coupon holders that were on top of it!).

Sad to say but my nearly 5 year old son talked me into letting him get a set of cuttlebug kids die cuts. I thought they were on sale so I brought along an Archival Graphite Black stamp pad for me thinking that I'd be getting a deal on both. Since I bought other things I didn't realize until I got home that the die cuts weren't on sale so I paid full price for my stamp pad. Had I realized it I would've waited til the next sale. Oh well. I'll just have to find something else to buy next time.... Happy shopping
I bought a box of assorted embossed cards and envelopes. They are great in a pinch... all I do is stamp something simple on the card, color it in, and I'm done... voila!
I also tend to buy glue runners when I can't find anything else... they are something that I always use.
ooooh, I've been thinking of buying a crop-o dile! Now tell me what exactly do you use it for? I have an eyelet setter , but I think the cropodile will punch through coasters. Any other purpose for it?
A friend and I went to Michael's to use our coupons today. Everything she picked was already on sale - Fiskar cutter blades, paper storage. She finally got a punch for someone else. I bought a baking item. The Cuttle Kids dies were on sale for $3. I wish they'd get some new stuff in.
I was bummed too with what was on sale. I "prepicked" a couple of things, some punches etc. For those who can't find anything, use the coupons for magazines or any of their books. It's nice to get a $30 book half off. There's always the wonderful Martha Stewart glitter to buy. Gotta have all colors
It is sad that Michael's doesn't carry the latest supplies! Some weeks I don't use the coupon because there isn't anything to use it on. This week I did get a Martha Stewart border punch. I also got her leaft punch since I had two coupons. One border punch was also on sale for $1.46 and I like it better than the one I used the coupon for. Of course, I didn't realize it was on sale until I checked out! That is when I went back and got the other border punch to use my coupon with. Hopefully I will get a card made today using the sale punch. It is scalloped with a little dingy between each scallop.
I used my 40% and 50% coupons this week to buy 11 X 14 photo boxes. They're clear acrylic boxes that I put my loose wooden stamps in.
I agree that I've run out of things to buy at Michaels. It seems like they haven't gotten any new stamps in a long time. I have all the tools that I need and none of the dies have tripped my trigger.

Thanks, Sandy
Sandy I swore I didn't need one, "oh I have no use for that...I have an eyelet setter"!! I am so wrong!! I borrowed my sisters and now its a must have for me!!! It went through coasters, less noisery than the hammering, and she actually used it to make another hole on a belt!!!

ITA, Ragtop! Their stamps are so...well..generic, aren't they? It's either wedding cakes, flowers, or bugs, it seems...some sayings are okay, but really...I'd much rather order another HouseMouse than buy stamps at M's!
I also looked for a good glue this time, and only the Emery (?) ones...not the Scotch Quick Drying one some gals on here swear by (but in a nice way;-)
I hope with the new "management" team or whatever, Michael's gets with the times and updates their supplies....
