Default What Am I Doing Wrong -- 2 step stamping

Is it just me? I just got Bud Basics. I am having the hardest time figuring out how to mount the stamps so my 2-step stamping matches up (I have had this problem with other two-step stamp sets). I can't even tell which part of the stamp is the top or bottom. I can't figure out how some of you get the center imge exactly within the lines of the outline image. I wish SU marked one of the petals so I would know how to position the rubber stamp on the block. Any tips?

I usually line the sticky image that you place on the wooden block and match that with the stamp. They don't have to be perfect, that is the beauty of 2-step stamping.

To tell which way is up, look at the copyright Stampin' Up part on the sticker.

HTH!

If you really want the first and second images to line up perfectly, the Stamp-a-ma-jig should be on your next SU! order. I use my SAMJ all the time and have taught several friends how to use it too.

OH and for mounting your Bud Basics image...

I found the smallest petal and lined that up with the sticker for the big flower. For the small flower I found the petal that was odd shaped(the petal was wider and at an angle) and matched that to the sticker. I think you can figure out the leaf...

I never liked 2-step stamping until I read your tutorial krabearkub.....thank you so much. I actually posted one card I did after reading your tutorial and it's pretty decent. So glad you posted that, it's a great help!!
