I saw the video for stamping on canvas and wondered if the same thing could be done with water color pencils instead of watercolor crayons. Anyone tried this method?

Fran, you can certainly give it a try, but you won't get nearly as vibrant a look. The crayons are MUCH more concentrated color than the pencils are. You'll find the pencils to produce a pretty pale image. But, that may be the look you want, kwim?
You probably need to wet the pencil tip before coloring with them...it'll transfer the color easier.
I prefer to use water color pencils first then use the aqua brush to distribute the color. I feel the pencils give a more vibrant color and I also can control how dark I want the color better than with crayons.
Just different looks that is a personal choice, which ever you prefer.
