Default thinking about getting

a xyron machine. Which do you all think is the best? I would like to be able to put adhesive on the backs of things, and I would like to be able to laminate. Just trying to get everyone's opinion before I go through the process of trying to convince my dh that I need something that I can't demo.

just my 2 cents but-

I really thought i would use my xyron more than i have. i have had it for 2.5 years and it has been sitting yes sitting in my closet for 1.5 of those years untouched. I didn't even really play with it all that much to begin with. i got it for the lamination part and sticker fun. but i have only used it for the sticker part of it. Now that i have found the sticker paper it is one less step for me to go thru so i don't even use the xyron.

As far as a laminator. it's a cold laminator and therefore i do not like to use it for that purpose. Basically it's a clear contact paper. And i just feel like if i want to make a write on wipe off board it looks better and works better with the a hot laminator. plus they come out sturdier.

now i did pay a bit more for my xyron than what has been posted. And if i could have gotten one that cheap i would say then that i had gotten my money's worth out of it. But for what i paid i just don't think that's the case.

I don't use my xyron much either, but I'm glad to have it. It does come in handy from time-to-time.

I just got the 510. I love it so far. I am having to take it easy tho and not go too wild! lol I need to order the laminateing and the magnet paper to use with it. I have the adhesive roll that it came with. If you want something to stick, this baby does it. The numbers correspond with the size of project it can take. ie...510 = 5inches, 900= 9 inches.

I have the 900 series & it has a pretty nice layer of dust on it! I have used it to laminate some things but that's it. I haven't even changed the cartridge yet & I've had it for about 3 years.
I am glad I do have it for that rare occassion I want to use it.
