I am pretty sure that I wanna be a TAC demo. I met the nicest lady today who would be my upline. I found her through the TAC website. Then I looked at the catty. I thought I would be disappointed after seeing the SU one. I wasn't disappointed I was amazed. Great stamps with even better prices. I prefer mine unmounted anyway. The only thing SU may have going for it are their stamp pads which automatically store upside down. Very impressed. I am going to intensely study the catty next week. I am working at a camp for abused and neglected children. There are always a few minutes downtime near bedtime. Sooooo excited. How does anyone choose from all of those gorgeous stamps?
Oh yes, the TAC stamps are amazing. Just gorgeous sets. You will be soooo happy. I chose stamps which I thought I would be able to demo the best. I mean you will eventually build up your collection as a demo.
ah...give the palette inks a chance! They are wonderful! And now in the catalog we have ink matches to our paper which helps alot.
For stamps - buy what you LOVE...then you won't have to worry about them retiring! But I do think it's a good idea to pick some bold and some outline to be able to teach/demo different techniques. You may want a set too that would be good for scrapbookers...
The cool thing about palette ink is that dries quick like classic ink but is permanent and can be used an many different surfaces. You will love TAC as a demonstrator. You only met one of the many hundreds of amazing folks you will meet being with the company...now is a great time to jump in with TAC...winter retreat will be in SanAntonio in January and would be a fabulous experience for you if you can make it happen. Oh and yes...the stamps are marvelous as well!!
I too will most likely be signing up as a hobby demo next month.. I got the catty on Monday and went bonkers over it I will still buy from SU and like them.. but TAC is more up my alley stamp wise right now!

Hey Sherri,
I choose my stamp sets depending on what technique I am enjoyng at the time. I also choose by mood. I am mostly fun, funny, like to make people smile. So my first choice from the new catalog was tickled pink.
I had a lot of fun with that set. I submitted 3 to TAC Contest
By the way. TAC has several contests per month for demonstrators to submit their artwork. If you win, you can select $75 worth of stamps for free

Well, with those fantastic prices you can get a bunch of them very quickly. LOL I love being a TAC Demo. And I have met nothing but "Angels" through TAC. Everyone is very helpful.

you guys are all so lucky to live in the US!! I'm Canadian, and I've seen TAC products online and they look amazing!!! I contacted the company about a year ago and it doesn't look like they'll be moving up here either!!

I think there are demos who will ship to you in Canada if you would like them to.
TAC sets are super cute.. and take up much less space. I have been debating jumping from SU to TAC... but I have a downline to think about. But my mom signed up for a little bit and the amount of stamps you get in your start up kit.... HOLY COW!!!
Shannon, would you ever consider asking your downline (don't know how many you have) if they'd switch with you? You could sign up, then they could sign up under you right away... Just a thought... Then again if your line is huge, not so practical...

I think my girls just love SU way too much to leave. And honestly... I have sold SU for over 6 years now.... switching over to TAC would mean all new inks, markers, and more.
I need to see the new catty which is on it;s way to me from my TAC demo as we type. I like the prices and the images and all the accessories. But I am also a Background Junkie and TAC never has a good selection of them. That would be hard to leave behind. But the fact that TAC is way more understanding about demoing your stuff in retail locations and selling stuff makes it really appealing since I make most of my money off of classes and not as much off of products.
It is definitely something to think about. I need to thumb through the new catty and give it some serious thought.
SU has a lot going for it except the minimums. If the minimum wasn't that high, I would have jumped at it. I love SU. I also love TAC, and TAC won in the demo department. But my SU demo is very happy. I already have an order ready for the Winter mini for September.
I think I am going to go for it. I belong to an SU stamp camp. I would never give that up. My SU demo is excited because now she has access to order my stamps. It may just be the best of both worlds. Two questions: What is their angel policy? and Please tell me about the Palette inks? I only use the SU craft inks since I scrapbook and emboss so much of the time. How do they compare? (I like the size and the way the SU ink stores is the reason I will have trouble giving them up)
The angel policy is one of the huge benefits that TAC offers. It's basically an open policy - use the stamps for whatever, you don't need to give them credit. You can't reproduce the images for mass use though, like on a copier. Correct me if I'm wrong, angels?
I have been a TAC demo for almost a year now and love it! The minimums are super easy to meet. I love the stamps and the new papers are to die for!
In answer to your question about the palette inks- they are archival and fade-proof. You can emboss with them but you have to be quick. I am in the process of collecting all of the spots and the colors are beautiful! There is no need to give up anything you already have. I still have and use all of the SU inks and papers, including retired ones! One of my best friends is an SU demo and we've done combined classes using products from both companies. The starter kit is a phenomenal value. I say go for it. Another nice thing about TAC is, once an angel, always an angel. If you need to go inactive for any reason, all you have to do to reactivate is submit a $50 order. What could be easier? Good luck with your decision, and please know there are many of us who are here for you if you have any questions.

I completely agree with Lisa! I'm not a purist either and if I need an SU punch at one of my classes, I use!! BUT...the Noir Palette ink is a MUST HAVE! It is the best thing out there for watercoloring and gamsol. It does not smudge... I do have all the spots now myself and am happy with them! I am also now collecting all of the VersaMagic chalk ink dew drops (aka spots!)... I really like how both come four to a pack and they are "related" so you can't go wrong using them together. Lastly, TAC has marked within the catalog which inks match their exclusive papers...a really nice touch!
I think you should go for it allso!!! I just looked at a TAC catty a few months ago and loved there stamps.I order 6 sets and love them and they where unmounted I liked that better to!! Then I was so excited to get the new catty to see what they had.Love,Love,Love it. Can't wait to get the sets I want. I found my demo hear on SCS and she is great she lives on the other side of the US.
Angel policy is correct remember though for publication, even on the internet you have to use only TAC sold products and you have to give TAC full credit.
I am in the same dilemma, I have all of the SU inks (full size, but not all of the in-colors), and all of their papers, markers etc. I am still a demo (just hobby as I couldn't get many people to buy since either
1. they already have a demo = this area is saturated with SU demos, or
2. they simply don't have the money. I love SU, but after being a hobby demo for 1 1/2 years I think I have pretty much everything I wanted now, including enough stamps. Since I won't be demoing any, I don't even feel the need to buy any new SU stamps right now.
I am giving it lots of thoughts to become a demo for TAC after I drop SU because I think there are some people that would love to give stamping a try but are scared away by the prices they usually see for rubber stamps.

Where is this policy written? I've never heard this.
So if you hold your own Workshop order every 4th month, you'll get 3 GWPs, a hostess set, 1/2 priced item (got my Big SHot that way!) and you get 25% commission back...so you got all of that for really $75....plus shipping and handling.
rats...need an edit button!! The $100 would be really like $75...if you buy a half priced item, you obviously need to add that cost on top (and you don't earn commission on a half priced item).

I have to jump in here as well. The benefits with TAC are really wonderful, the minimums are super easy to make as a hobby demo, and their angel policy is outstanding. You can sell your goods anywhere and dont even have to give credit. I am starting to become interested in collecting all the pallette inks as well. Have all the SU ones (love them) and would like to have both. I really like both companies but for me (with few customers) Tac is the best choice. That way I can keep my SU demo happy and keep myself TAC happy.... ;)

Hmmm I have personal experience, and it is in the angel area:
"Here are some guidelines to follow.
Use exclusive products from The Angel Company. Our fantastic new papers collections, stamp sets, and embellishments. Be sure to list brief directions and what supplies you have used on your sample cards."
And I know from personal experience. They considered the online ezine that I designed for a published work, and those of us who used TAC products with other products were told that we can't do that. But just so you know, this was from the Get Published area of the angels only area. We were also told that we needed to give credit (and of course we did) to TAC for their images.

Thanks for that- I guess I only considered this to be a rule if you wanted to be entered into the "get published" drawing for free product.
I don't publish- so it's not an issue, but thank you for clarifying.
I guess they don't consider this to fall under the angel policy- as it's not selling your work, it's something different?
I think it is so that you are not demo'ing or displaying competing products. There is a part farther down in the listing that says to not attempt to get published in any mags that compete with TAC's products.

So does this publishing rule only apply to Angels then? Cause that would make a bit of sense (kind of).
Ladies you have all been amazing. I can't wait to try out the new inks. Maybe I'll change my mind. I am disappearing for the next week to my camp. I'll see you all after that.
