It may just be me, but I don't buy things I can't see. While a large portion of the people here may be familiar with all of the SU and other brands, I am not. I see all these posts with lists of products for sale - and they might be something I would want, however I have no way of knowing what they look like.
I think all sale posts would be improved by linking the title of a stamp or collection to the picture of the item.
LOL thought I was the only one that thought that I sit and search the gallery then miss a post and it sold!!!
Though I need to purge my stamps but would have no clue how to add a pic link to the post, and I absolutely hate the ones that say make offer!!!
I spend hours on E-bay and other sites looking for stamps listed. The older retired ones are sometimes very hard to find. I know it's alot of working posting pictures and links but I'm starting to think like some of the other ladies. I would really like to see pictures if at all possible. Trust me when I say I purchase a lot off this board and it would be so helpful.
Ditto. I see a long list of SU sets I don't know the names of (which is most of them, lol) and I hit that 'back' button. I don't have time to research what each set looks like. But browsing pictures, something would most likely jump out at me and I'd buy it.
I used to buy used stamps a lot on another board. Most of the gals would just take one big picture of all the stamps, and then circle them and give them numbers and names. They always sold out quick!

You would just take photos of what you want to sell, upload them to a gallery like Flicker or Picasa. Then, you will select the html link that is created for each image, copy it. Come back to your listing, and highlight the product name, click on the Globe Icon with the link on it (found in the advanced posting view here). Repeat for all listings in your post. Voila! Your images are linked and ready to go!
If you have taken a picture and uploaded it to your computer, all you have to do is click the Go Advanced box below the Quick Reply box I am typing in right now. Scroll down to Additional Options and click Manage Attachments. It opens a window for you to upload pictures. Click on Browse and choose your photos, and click Upload. You can do 3 I believe, at a time.
There is another option to upload from a URL and I presume it works the same way although I haven't used that. I imagine that to mean if you have pictures in Photobucket or something.
So yes, ifyou have pictures of stamp sets it will be easier to sell them and it isn't hard to show them. Hope that helps!
Also, since there's galleries for each SU stamp set, couldn't sellers link to those galleries? It would show the full image set, and lots of pictures of how others use it, which can help buyers who may be considering how versatile the set is.
I've only purchased a couple things from the B&S here, but a picture of the actual item they are selling would be nice. That way you can see what kind of condition its in. I'm not a stickler for stains on stamps, but I know some people would freak if they got a stained stamp. This way you can see beforehand.
[QUOTE=cardmaker2;17977933]You can also link them right from here.

Oh, I agree with this completely. I know very few sets by name, and links or pics would help immensely. I don't care if it's a stock photo or actual photo, because all I ask is that something be in good stamping condition, scratches, stains or dents that don't affect performance don't matter to me!

I've bought quite a bit from B/S forum here. I sometimes just surf for fun and run into something I want. I know a lot about SU, but I still don't know many of the sets for sale. I open two screens and flip back and forth between e-bay. It takes a little time, but I've gotten great sets at a fraction of the price.
I totally agree, pictures help! But I figure a little leg work scores me great stamps. I can understand not wanting to put extra time into it. Sellers would be wise to post pictures!

I agree...many a times I'm just looking for a certain "kind" of stamp set and if looking at the picture I thought it fits the bill I would go ahead and buy it. Looking at just the name doesn't help and I'm one of those who doesn't know stamp sets by name.
