Default Stamping on a Cutting Board

I know it can be done...but does anyone know if the SU! Craft Inks are "food safe?" Or can anyone give me some tips about going about this? How would the image be "sealed?" OR is it better to consider this as a decorative serving piece? I could be answering my own questions, but another perspective is welcome!!

Either post here or PM or both. Any information is helpful! Thanks!

None of the inks are rated as food safe - but they are all non toxic so they would not poison you per say. BUT i would definately consider it a decorative item after stamping on it and not use it to actually cut stuff up on!

I would use the back of a decorated board for my cutting and have the front stay pretty to decorate my counter. Of course your ink would need to stay put so the board can be hand washed.

ALL AWESOME thought...love this one...now...I wonder if Mod-Podge would seal it and I could include instructions to demonstrate the multi-uses. I, personally, would use it a decorative piece b/c I prefer my PChef boards for cutting. Hmmm....thanks so much all...I will take other ideas if there is anyone else who has suggestions for preservation.

I accidentally stamped Baroque Motifs on my plastic cutting board with Classic Ink and I cannot get it off. lol I have cut on it and washed it alot and it still will not come off.

Probably not what you are thinking but I could not help but chime in. lol

Ha! I cant tell you what all is stamped accidentally around here. I have been very bad about placement which is why I am unmounting everything.

The best is the cutting board though.

My local discount store...(cheaper than the Wal-Mart a little more "upscale than the Dollar Stores?) had them for $2.

So, YES...that is what I am thinking with my happy chef from the "Voila" SU! set or my wine and cheese stamp. Decisions, decisions...I will post in my gallery when I get one done.
