I am going to Spokane WA this weekend for Bloomsday Run......I am not running I couldn't even walk it...my DH is determined to do it! Can anyone tell me what hobby stores are there and where they are located!

I'm from there (moved to Bellevue 5 years ago) and I can't think for the life of me where JoAnns or Michaels is!!! Boy, that is sad :0) Do a search at dexonline.com and that could help.
I hope the weather is nice for you this weekend! I'll be there towards the end of the month with my new baby visiting my family :0)

Where will you be staying while you're here? There's a nice store up on the South Hill at 30th and Grand called Apropos Art Stamps. There's another one down on Monroe, but it's pretty new and I can't think of the name.
If you're staying out in the valley (east of Spokane proper), there's a scrap store called Huckleberries at Pines & I-90. There's another scrap store called Scrappers' Attic on Mullan/Argonne and Mission. Michaels is on Sullivan and Broadway; Joannes is on Pines and Sprague. This J's totally s*cks, though, compared to the one on the South Hill near Apropos.
Im from Spokane....and cannot wait to go "home"... Such a nice town with nice people!! Isnt there a huge Michael's on Division? Division is a major rd. that goes North and South and should be easy for you to navigate as your hubby runs... I believe that you go north of the Francis intersection maybe about a mile or two and its on your left. There used to also be a big scrapbooking store on the corner of Country Homes Blvd and Division (West side in the plaza by the ice cream store)...but that was six years ago...so I am unsure if its still there. I used to go to and taught some classes at The Stamp Jeannie.... but heard she sold out to a lady with a doll shop on NW Blvd.... I dont know the name of the new shop...
Good luck to your hubby with his run! Hope you all have a lovely weekend and you find some new stamping places too!! :-)
OH MANNN!! The Michaels I am talking about should be on your RIGHT...sorry... not your left... (I am working with no sleep here the last two days!!)....once you figure out division .... Spokane is a really easy town to navigate... honest!
MsBetsyZ, thnk you for the heads up on Apropros! I go to the South Hill Jo-Anne's all the time (and I agree that that is really the one to go to) but I didn't even know of Apropros!! I'll have to go check it out! Isn't there also a Huckleberries Paper Patch on Pines, near the freeway?

Hey Chris
Oh, its great that you are going to Spokane, have lots of fun. I will be going thru there this summer so make sure you check out all the stampin stores for me. Write down address or get there business cards so you can tell me where to go. Are you just going for the weekend?
Darn it I missed our last class at Laurie's, boo hoo, missed you guys.
Hope to see you at the next one. Have a blast shopping.
Kathy
Yes, the Joanne's on the South Hill is THE best, by far. Whenever I go in to the one here in the Valley and ask for something, they always give me a look like, "you're kidding, right?" They always tell me to go in town. I can't drive that far though.
Runamok, you're welcome! I LOVE Apropos. I used to go there all the time until I stopped being able to drive that far. Kathy, the owner, is a great gal, and always tries to stay on top of the latest trends.
Yes, Huckleberry's is at the intersection of Mission and Pines, which is just off I-90. Coming from Spokane, you'd head south on Pines from the exit, and then the very next intersection is at Mission; they are in the strip mall right across from Applebee's.
I was born in Spokane, and grew up an hour north of there. I fly into Spokane when i fly up to see my family (who still live north of Spokane).
As for shops, everyone has listed all the shops I know of ... I will add tho, that the Michael's store that was mentioned on Division is considered one of the "mega" stores. I bet you can find all KINDS of trouble there!

K. Benco, the Jo-Ann's is on 29th Ave on the South Hill, cross street is Regal. It is a good one, lots of crafting stuf and fabric and hours of drooling. I haven't gone to tons of Jo-Anns, but this one is tons of fun for me!

Chris hurry up and go to all of these stores, I'm so excited for you.
A mega Michael's, wow, and a Jo-Anne's. Do they have Hobby Lobby? Where is the closest Hobby Lobby? I have never been to one of those.
Kathy
I have a friend going to Spokane and she is interested in finding Stampscapes stamps. Would anyone happen happen to know if any of the stores listed carry these? Thanks for any help you are able to give!
