Our family will be heading to Disneyland / San Diego next week and I am hoping to visit a store or two while down there. I have found some stores on the 'puter and was wondering if any of you helpful ladies could let me know if any of them have closed down.
- Screamin' Susie's in Whittier - Stamp Fever in Orange
- Stampworks in Anaheim
- Tall Mouse in Yorba Linda - The Red Mat in Placentia - Timeless Treasures in Rancho Santa Margarita - Your Pad or Mine in Garden Grove
The reason I ask is because when we went to Vegas a few years back I had a list of stores and some of the ones we went to were no longer there. Also, is any one of these Jo-Anne stores any better than the other, or do they all pretty much have a good stock of stampin/scrappin stuff?
- 1620 N Tustin St Orange, CA
- Village Green
18633 Yorba Linda Blvd
Yorba Linda, CA
- Sierra Vista S/C
1840 N Placentia Ave
Placentia, CA
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ever so much and have a great day! Angela
Oh, you have to go to Paper Tales in San Diego! I haven't been there (yet! I'm dying to go!!) ~ but I've heard it's really wonderful. Here's a link to their blog...
Oops, sorry, I didn't mean to just ignore your actual question! I'm new to California and I haven't ventured very far from Bakersfield, so I don't know any of the places you listed. Just wanted to be sure you add Paper Tales to your list! Have fun!
I know the Red Mat and the Tall Mouse are still open.
It takes me a couple of hours just to walk through the Tall Mouse - I find so much interesting stuff. I haven't been there in a while, but they are incredibly well supplied in general crafts and scrap materials. The last time I was there, stamping was not their strong point, however, the store is one that you really don't want to miss.
The Red Mat is really, really tiny, but positively jam packed wall to wall with stamps and supplies. Linda has a great collection of stamps you just don't see elsewhere. She has some exotic papers, but I wouldn't consider her store to be a "scrap" store (however, she does have a few scrapbooks she has done that are incredible - ask to see her Pergamano baby book).

Reason: Punctuation is our friend.
Timeless Treasures in RSM is open and it's huge. Everything scrap in the world is in there and finding just want you "need" will take a bit of time. I'm not sure about Your Pad or Mine. Haven't been there in a long time. Call first to be sure. It is the closest to Disney, pretty much out the door and down the road. I haven't been to Tall Mouse in Yorba Linda but I used to shop at the one in Laguna Niguel all the time. Great craft stuff and they stock some hard to find things. It's like a treasure hunt!
In San Diego, not far from the Zoo (in CA terms of far) you can find a wonderful store called Scrapbook Your Life. They have tons of stuff, nicely arranged and lots of San Diego and CA specific stuff to scrap your trip. From there, it is just a super short drive to Paper Tales. If you can PM me with your hotel, I can give you specific driving directions to some places.

Terry Medaris, colored pencil genius, will be teaching classes at Cat's Cupboard on Friday and Saturday, 4/24 and 4/25. If you are anywhere near escondido (NE of San Diego), you definitely don't want to miss it. His classes are fabulous!!!!
If you make it as far as Cat's Cupboard, you have to go just a little bit farther into Poway. You'll find Cool Scrapbook Stuff and Stamping Details. Cool Scrapbook Stuff is a huge store, Stamping Details is smaller, but crammed with tons of stamps and supplies.
