I bought a bunch of stamping related stuff online...got a great deal. As soon as I opened the boxes, all you can smell is cigarette smoke. I'm not a smoker and this person obviously was. Is there anything I can do to get the smell of smoke off the items? The items include a Big Shot, numerous dies, embossing folders, ink pads, and about 60 stamp sets.
Some of the items may be able to be washed with a damp rag. Dryer fabric softener sheets can also help if you wrap them around the dies and folders. Hope this helps!

Wrap whatever possible in newspaper. If possible, place an uncovered bowl of distilled white vinegar in a closed room/closet (ideally one that won't be disturbed for at least a day or two) with all the goodies.
HTH ... These are tips I remember from my Grandma!
Here's another idea that helps remove smoke smell and other odors, too. Place the items in a box with deactivated charcoal (you can get it at garden supply stores) or cheap kitty litter. Seal up the box and let it sit for a few days. This really does work. It will take mold smell out of things, too.
At a janitorial supply store there will be several items to remove smoke. Some are cleaners and there are sprays also. I have used both when cleaning homes that had smoke damage from fires.
