Hi Ladies,
I plan to sign up this week to become a demo, but I do have a few questions. I have yet to receive the info packet from my current demo - I'm sure all of the answers are in there, but I am going to lose sleep tonight if I don't get my answers now! :? Ha ha ha.
1. How many, if any at all, catalogs do you receive with the starter set?
2. What is your opinion of getting the Scrapbooking Add-On Kit?
3. What $11.95 set do you recommend? I already have Itty Bitty Backgrounds. I also already have Beyond the Basics, Mostly Flowers, Stars & Swirls, and In the Sky.
4. I plan on selling some of my cards at a craft show at the end of April. Are demos allowed to sell their products, as long as they follow the Angel Policy?
5. Does the starter kit come with any sort of template for a letter to send out to friends and family, announcing my new business?
Thanks so much for any info or feedback. I am soooo excited to get started with this.
Lisa
1. Eight
2. I chose not to get the add on. It wasn't THAT great of a deal and decided that I would use my $50 on my first workshop order to order the things I really wanted.
3. Background Basics, Happy Spring...not too many 11.95 sets out there.
4. From what my upline told me, you can either sell cards (following the Angel Policy) OR you can do make n takes and solict orders, workshops, etc. You can't do both. I also believe you have to get the set up approved by SU, but may be someone else knows more about this.
5. No but I think you can find samples on the demo site.

1. 8 catties
2. Get it! I didn't get it and I regret it because I ended up buying everything in the add-on kit anyway
3. How about Close to Nature? I've used that one more than I originally thought I would.
4. You can sell cards, but not solicite as a demo at the same time.
5. No, but I believe there are templates like that on the demo website!
On selling the cards & etc. that you make, you may do so if you stamp on the back of the card with a stamp that is sold in the catalog, for that purpose. I am ordering on of the sets next week. I volunteer in the gift shop at the local hospital. I plan on making cards for the shop to sell.

Lisa - You have already been given excellent advice above. I just wanted say congradulations on your decision to join SU! I sent in my paper work on Friday and am anxiously awaiting my kit. I read a lot of posts before making the decision to become a demo. I read over and over in other places that those who did not order the additional scrapbook kit were very sorry that they didn't. Due to their advice, I bought it and am glad I did. There are so many who scrapbook and if you have SU! high quality scrapbook products to demo, you will increase your sales making it a very worth while purchase. I wish you lots of success in your venture!
I would definately get the add on, I have sold scrapbooks because of the add on that I got. I would also get the Shape ups set for the 11.95 set. You can do great techniques and I wish I had gotten it.

Unfortunately this is not allowed. You cannot sell in a permanent retail shop, nor can you make things to be sold "on consignment" (sell to a store owner to resell in the store).

I just wanted to add that this is true for both demonstrators and non-demonstrators. It's against SU's Angel Policy.
