I've paid my dues and have my calandar marked, now all I have to do is come up with a shoe box swap idea :lol: I'm thinking valentine or spring? Does anyone else have theirs thought up yet? I totaly will not steal your idea, I'm just looking to see what direction others are headed.

Hi! I've come up with my idea from a swap I received from the Madison regional. CASEing it I guess. It's a simple design with blocks of color on a white background and a vellum strip. I think I'm going to make it a birthday card cuz I think everyone else is doing Valentines or Easter. Something different, ya know? I wish I had a final number, though, so I can start cutting for it!

I agree with Dartella-- I'm trying to think of something other than valentines. Maybe St. Patty's day? I am interested to see what others have planned!

WOW it's getting closer and I have finally have a card in my minds eye.

Hi All, I was wondering if there's a list of things to bring (other than the swaps ).
I'm bringing my sctampin' scrub and mist, double stick tape, and an extra basic black pad. Is there anything else I should bring with me?

Hi Darttella! Good idea to bring all of those things. Be sure to bring enough tape for you personal use all day, but don't plan on leaving adhesive with your shoebox.
you might also want to bring a scissors or some kind of personal paper trimmer. I didn't need it last time I did this, but you know how that goes!
Kookie and I are coming! It'll be good to see you ladies again!!!! How many new faces are coming? return stampers from Northwoods? This shall be a good time!
I have been working on my swaps ALL day- well except for a 1/2 hour when I had to check in with Scrades, you know, compare notes! hehe
Can't wait for saturday to come.

Well, we're leaving quite early! Coming up from Milwaukee, it normaly takes about an hour, but we're going to give ourselves an additional 1/2 hour. Come heck or high water, we're going!! LOL! If you're driving a long way too, PM me for my cell phone number, maybe we can cheer each other on.

Kookie and I livein Wausau! woke up this morning to about 1 foot of new snow and they say we are getting more!
I too have all these cards, and I made calenders for the anything but a card swap, and I made a 24 page 8x10 scrapbook for the lottery!! What am I going to do with all this stuff! :oops: !
Glad to hear that you all are going to be driving slowly as will I. I'm comming from Jackson to Sheboygan via West Bend to pick up gabbygab my sil Just listening to the news and the snow should be tapering off in the next hour or so. drive safe and we'll see you there.

Think of all of the fun we are still going to have, even though mother nature is trying hard to spoil it for us.
I am sorry I didn't make the decision to postpone, it was too late to cancel many obligations I made, and I felt I might have MORE problems if I picked a later date and that didn't work out either.
Well.... unfortunately... we had to cancel. Car got stuck. :(
I know most of you are on your way there. But maybe some of you who had to cancel as well would like to meet next weekend for a "Snow Day" get together when the streets are a bit more cleared? I know I have all my stuff cut, swaps made, and ready to go.

I think I may have been the only one coming from Racine. It took my husband an hour to use the snowblower in front of our garage!! So, yes, I'd love to get together next weekend if others can. I work during the week so only the weekend would work. Take care. I'm bummed! Mona

I wish we could have made it. That darn snow just kept coming and coming and coming and well you know what I mean.
It is such a bummer but I guess you can't predict mother nature.

"snow day" works for me....
:shock: I just got done unloading my car every one that ventured oyt made it there safley. We all had a great time :!: Every one got a door prize and all the shoe box swaps were really terriffic! we were all so busy that I still haven't examined the other swaps we all brought along but of what I saw others looking at when I was still making shoe box swaps they are NEAT also. For those that didn't make it Robin will be getting in touch with you.

I just have to let everyone know...I HAD A GREAT TIME!!! I got some great ideas from the "anything but a card" swap. And the cards that every one made to swap out were just teriffic! The ones we made were nice too.
Great food and everything was pretty organized. GREAT JOBTO YOU ROBIN!!!! You did excellent in the planning area. Can tell you have done this kind of thing before. (Planning a big event I mean)
I think I got the best door prize there was. It was made by Donna Drazkowski. It was a night light, covered with a clear plastic cup cut 3/4 around and then she used some kind of white paper that was stamped on and then glued on to the outside of the cup. Used velcro on the underside of the cup bottom and also on top of the night light. Can't explain very well, too bad you missed it all.
It was also nice to see our friends from Milwaukee that came to the Wausau stamp event. I really hope Sherades and Kookie do that again next year, so we can see everyone again. Missed you Sherades and Kookie, too bad you couldn't come! I even had an extra card for each of you. Guess I will have to mail them.
It was slow driving w/sis-n-law, but I say you can get anywhere if you just go slow. And we did. A few white outs, blowing snow, but not bad enough not to go. We didn't have quite as far to go as some of you, so don't fret, at least we didn't have to hear that anyone got hurt trying to get there. You will just have to make sure we see you at the next one!!!
I am so glas to hear that people who were able to make it yesterday had a good time, I was really hoping all of you would think it was worth the extra effort. There were 20 people in attendance and about 6 who couldn't make it. I feel so bad that it didn't work out for everyone, and I was so looking forward to meeting ALL of you!
We all talked about what to do with the swaps everyone worked so hard to prepare, so please stay tuned for more details coming sometime next week! But for those of you who were snowed in, start stamping the shoebox cards you had prepared they won't got to waste!
By the way, I saw the link for the snow day. I think that's a great idea-- I hope the snow won't get in the way twice!
Our drive down (and over!) from Appleton and Oshkosh was nerve-wracking at times, because even though the roads were clear (no ice or slush) the snow was blowing across the roads so badly that it was white-out conditions!
We had such a great time--all of the shoebox projects were awesome, and there was a little bit of everything--embossing, chalks, faux postage, Aqua Painter, glitter, etc. It was a great smorgasbord of stampin' techniques. And now, of course, my stampin' wish list is longer than ever...
Speaking of smorgasbords...Robin and her helpers did an awesome job planning the menu (hey...next to the stampin' part, the food is the next most important, right??) because we had great sub sandwiches, snacks and baked goodies...yes, I am talking chocolate chip cookies and yummy brownies!
The extra door prizes were very thoughtful, so thank you to the people who helped put that together. I got to go home with an Aqua Painter!
I can't think of a better way to spend a snowy Saturday than to stamp!
