I like Michael's. They not only have the $1 bin of ribbons which sometimes have some cute thin ribbon. But, they have the Dashes, Dots and Checks and Go with the Grain ribbons for $1.99. Right now those are in the cutest colors and patterns!!
Another vote for Michaels and the $1 bin. That is where I've gotten the majority of my load. I love digging around in Joanns sales bins too. They usually have some kind of ribbon on sale too.

I love hitting the Ribbon section in Hobby Lobby or Michaels... And Joanne's
They seem to have a good selections of ribbon.
And if you watch their sales you can really get some good deals!
I get my ribbon from SU, Starlitstudio on ebay, Jackson Embellishments on ebay, Really Reasonable Ribbon and just bought up some from TayloredExpressions (from her blog). Someone stop me!!

I just read the link to the question about where to buy ribbon. I went to the site that was recommended - Ribbonandbowsohmy. There is a lot on there I want, but, I have a question with ordering. On some of it tells the width, but, not the length, so I am guessing a yard. Where it says the price, it says $0.00. Can someone who has ordered from them tell me how do you determine the price?
Thanks !!!!

Joan......Stop!!
Ribbon is another one of my downfalls. Along with Paper hoadering.
In reference to placing an order with ribbons andbowsonmy, Select the width and then the price and lengths available will come into that price area. Usually 5 yards to 100. Hope that helps. darc
I have gotten most of my non SU ribbon at the Offray ribbon outlet in Hagerstown MD. The last time I was there they had boxes and boxes of ribbon for 1 cent a roll. That place is AWESOME!!
Love, love, love Ribbons and Bows Oh My! Great sales, fast shipping, and marvellous ribbon. And no itty bitty 1 or 2 yard lengths... Sheers were just on sale at 25 yard spools for around $2-2.50. So many colors to choose from, too. They do have sample cards available and a club of some sort for further discounts.

I have been getting all of my ribbon lately at my local craft store. They have ribbon $.25 a yard, so I usually get a couple yards of whatever I want for a project and don't feel bad about spending a lot of money just on ribbon!

There is a great resource for the SoCali girls in Long Beach called "Fabric Barn". The locals call it "The Ribbon Store"! It's really a great place as everything is by the yard and you just roll it off the spool and write it down. You can also buy a whole spool. I wanted white 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon. I paid $5 for 100 yards! Most grosgrain is 8 yards or 6 yards for $1. They have all kinds of specialty ribbon, organdy, etc, etc....it's very overwhelming the first time you go in there, but since I've been going now for about 10 years, it doesn't freak me out anymore!

I've ordered a lot from Really Reasonable Ribbon (reasonableribbon.com, I think) - if memory serves, they have a chart on the site that shows which ribbons coordinate with which papers from various popular lines. don't recall which because I never used it.
I also belong to Tie One On Ribbon Club (sahmeribbonclub.com) - new ribbon shows up on my doorstep the first week of the month, every month - gotta love it
(sorry those aren't 'real links' - I'm getting an error message that I can only post URLS to other sites after I've made 3 posts or more..though I'm fairly sure I have..I can't argue with the code! LOL)
I usually buy ribbon at Michaels, too, from the $1 bins. Or when it's on sale for 50% off.
I was in Wal-Mart last week looking at the ribbon and they had some really cute stuff in there too. They seem like they had a much bigger selection of "fun" ribbon than they used to.
I got that same response a few weeks ago. LOL They have a ribbon sample chart you can order, but it was more than I wanted to pay. TexasJodyLyn orders from them, I'm pretty sure. She probably could give you a good idea.
I bought several 100 yd rolls of the grograin and it is a little narrower than Stampin Up's. One of the ones that I ordered was very close to certainly celery, it is just a tad darker.... Haven't used any yet, but the sheer looks nice and the velvet is pretty too. (From ribbonand bows oh my)
I've yet to find ribbon that's a better quality than SU!, but when I'm reaching for something different, I use some from my LSS (they carry American Crafts by the yard) and the other national craft store chains.
My mom is a quilter so I also have her on the prowl for fun and different fibers!
I've used lots of the places mentioned above too. One I didn't see is going to Mike's or Joann's or Hobby Lobby and buying the ribbon back at the fabric counter by the yard. Sometimes you can get it cheaper that way (and they do put them on sale too) and sometimes they have different ribbon than what they have on the spools that you buy the whole spool. Plus, I always check the clearance ribbon and lace back there, as you never know what you'll find!

I didn't see the sample charts. I went ahead and ordered one. When it arrives I'll post the color matches here.

They just sent me an email ...All there spring stuff is out and they have 2 huge sale tables.
If you're looking for the best price and don't mind buying quantity (25 - 100 yds), you can't beat these two sites: www.yourorganzabag.com has 25 yd. spools of organza in different widths for .95 to 1.80 -- that's for 25 YARDS! They don't have color charts so if you're trying to match to SU, you're taking a chance but they have a nice selection of colors and widths.
The second site I love is www.papermart.com. They have beautiful grosgrain for approx. 6 - 13.00 for 100 Yards! They have a huge selection of colors as well as other types of ribbon.
