Default Ribbon Buckles

Does anyone know where to get small ribbon Buckles in bulk? I want the ones that are in the Stampin Up Hodpoge hardware kit. I am making 50 plus Santa Christmas cards and want to use these ribbon buckles.

Found some on AddictedtoRubberStamps.com made by 7 Gypsies, looks like they are around $6 for 20 - not bad I think?

You could purchase a Buckle punch and use regular Cardstock.

I have one of the small buckle punches and it works fine

I have also seen buckles made of cardstock by punching out a small circle or square and then punching that with a ribbon slot punch.
Of course, I can't find a photo right now, but it's in the gallery somewhere among the kajillion other cards.

If you want to go with the buckle punch idea here is a way to create a faux metal one...just take a square of CS and emboss it with the metallic embossing powder of your choice then let it cool. Punch through it and you get a really fun buckle in the finish of your choice! I have a sample somewhere in my gallery...let me see if I can find it....

Keri I love your card and buckle. I'm definitely trying it out. I have been looking for flat alternatives.

Yes not only is it cheap to do it does lay flatter and not add so much weight to your cards that you want to send through the mail!
Thanks for the compliment Debbie!

I puchased just the ribbon slides in all three hodge podge finishes off ebay. I paid $15.82 (including postage) for 102 of the slides.

It was kind of neat because she had divided up three sets (one of each color) and sold all the like items together. She did it at least twice that I know of. All the labels together (although they sold for more), all the swirl clips together, etc. I love ebay!

I'm savin' Diet Pepsi can pull tabs. I've read on SCS that Sharpies will color them. Also to wet emboss.. usin' only EP and heat gun.. no VersaMark, etc needed. Heat tab 1st w/ heat gun, dip into EP, then emboss w/ heat gun. I haven't done it yet, but sounds great. DH HAS to have can drinks.. lol. I've also saved some Campbell's soup pull tabs.. they're way bigger, but who knows when I'll get a chance to use them!!
I plan to tamp down the rough inside attachment edge of the tab w/ a hammer. When I 1st read to use these, I couldn't get past the ugly pull attachment area.. then seein' cards made w/ them.. looks great! The ribbon/papr threaded through as belt, covers all ugly stuff!!
Oh, and.. YES Paste glues metal to paper really great!
May God bless! Stormy
