Well, I may not be much help either, but I didn't like the stamp pads and exchanged mine for the spots.

I have all 4 sets of craft spots and 2 sets of classic spots with the rest coming.

I am still working on getting the re-inkers also, so I will have them for my current pads if the colors change!

Earth Elements and Rich Regals were my first pick. I love working with those colors the most!

I would personally go for Soft Subtles. I think the colors are very complimentary of each other and work well for most of the reinker techniques.

I carefully selected reinkers in white, black, versamark, and a light colour of the Brilliance inks (Opulent Orchid I think? Light pink, anyhoo.) I thought I would get a good variety of choice with those.

A couple of combos that I couldn't live without for polished stone are Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, and Silver; Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, and Silver. I guess it depends on which techniques you really want to try and which colors you really like.
What about (since you like BB and EE) Brilliant Blue, Tempting Turquoise? I'd definitely get a metallic reinker, tho. JMHO

You need pink passion, green galore, lovely lilac. You also need yo yo yellow, tempting torquoise, and ballet blue (okay that's not BB, but you need it). Don't forget real red, glorious green, and pixie pink! Out of earth elements, you need pumpkin pie, more mustard, close to cocoa, your favorite EE green, ruby red, and really rust. Out of RR you need a darker blue, artichoke, eggplant, rose red, and saffron. Or, you could start with your favorite colors and build them that way. That should get you off to a good start, good luck!

Here's a thread with a document that has great polished stone color combos. Pick your reinkers from these combos and you can't go wrong!

I got old olive, barely banana, and pale plum, They are a great combo for the shaving cream technique. But I also use them a lot for watercoloring.

I ordered it through SU. I don't know if Michael's has them (but I'm definitely not sure!)
