Default question about paper storage...

i know i know...another one!

right now, i've got mine stacked in clear plastic boxes--but it's not exactly efficient. since everything is being reorganized in the "craft room" (aka spare bedroom), i figured now is the time to ask what others are doing.

i have seen a lot of people using hanging file folders--do you have issues with the paper bowing in the center or the corners/edges getting messed up (torn or bent)? if not, perhaps i'll go this route after all. i just don't want to pull out my paper and find i can't use it (or at least part of it) because it was ruined in storage!

if this has been a problem for people, i'll keep looking for a flat paper storage method i like (that won't break the bank!).

Nope - no problem. As a matter of fact, I ruin edges less because I am not fiddling through one large area for the color or sheet I want. Just pull the whole folder of the color you want out and you can get the size you need (I keep all my scraps int he front and whole sheets in back.). Just my opinion!

I've always used hanging folders with no problems.

I think the most important thing is to keep it in a closed, dark space so that you don't get sun damage.

I switched to hanging folders last year and absolutely love them! It's the best and easiest way for me to get to my paper!! And I haven't had a problem with bent edges or anything like that.

I do hanging file folders for my 81/2x11 and I use the new cropper hopepr vertical paper holders for my 12x12. I LOVE those. They are very affordable and don't take up very much room....and hold TONS of paper. I got 2 value packs and 2 paper holders. Love em!!

I recently asked about file drawers that will hold 12x12 folders, and decided that this drawer: http://www.memories.com/catalog/prod...temNumber=3813

was the most afordable, and most versitile (of corse it helps that the store near me has a 40% off coupon every week, and carries these). I love it! it holds a lot more than I thought it would, and I don't have to pull off what's on top of the paper I'm looking for to get to it. plus it keeps all my paper safely out of the sun so it's protected from fading. in fact I got 2 drawers (I have a ton of paper! I'm a paper adict!), and they stack. anyway what I'm trying to say is that I'm very happy with my hanging file system for my CS and paper.
