Default Question about mounting Petal Prints

I have mounted all of the stamps but am waiting on the one that has the three sets of leaves. I was wondering if you should mount it as one stamp for a leaf background or separate them so that you could add leaves to a stem. I would then need to put them on separate pieces of wood. I am sure some of you can give me ideas. Thanks so much!

Hi there,

I just looked at mine, as I ususally am looking for ways to 'customize' my stamps when I mount them, and I have all three of the leaf clumps mounted together. I guess I never thought of adding them to the stems.

Why don't you ink them up - just tap the pad onto the unmounted rubber -and then put some paper on and rub to get an image. Cut one of the clumps out and put it next to the flowers and see what you think about the look?

HTH! Happy New Stampin Year!

Hi, I mounted them all as one on the one wood block. If you want to use each leaf seperately you could just color the leaf with a marker and stamp it on the stem - use a stamp-a-ma-jig to get the alignment correct.

OK, this is gonna sound weird, but here's what I did!

First, I trimmed all around the outermost portions of the image. Then, I placed it on the wood block, BUT DID NOT REMOVE THE ADHESIVE BACKING PAPER JUST YET. I traced with a pencil, the outside edges of the leaf images. Then, I removed the image, cut the rest of the way around all the leaves so there was no large expanse of rubber joining them anymore.

Then, I re-aligned them to the penciled areas on the block, to make sure I knew exactly where each leaf cluster would go, and then I removed the backing paper to secure them permanently.

I can stamp now without worrying about accidentally getting stray ink on that large expanse of rubber that connects them all, AND, use it as is, or easily omit with marker or ink pad. As for adding leaves to a stem, if I wanted, I'd simply use my Stampa-ma-jig for that.

Is that clear as mud?

I did something different - I mounted one of the three leaf clumps to the opposite side of the wood block. I didn't use the sticker at all. So if I want just one, I use that side, if two, the other side, and if I want three, then I stamp with both sides.

Make sense??
